A GS-1101-11, AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR:
Conditions of employment
MILITARY REQUIREMENTS :
Military Grades: E8 (SMSgt) or Promotion eligible E7 (MSgt)
Desired Military Assignments: 2A5X4
- Applicants need not be assigned to the position or possess the AFSC to apply or be considered for selection. Selected applicant must be assigned to a compatible Military position and attain AFSC within 1 year of appointment action.
- May be required to successfully complete a trial period.
- Participation in direct deposit is mandatory.
- Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service.
- Must maintain membership in the WA Air National Guard for continued employment.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain the appropriate security clearance of the position.
- This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. An individual convicted of a qualifying crime of domestic violence may not perform the duties of this position.
- Position requires ability to establish effective professional working relationships with coworkers and customers, contributing to a cooperative working environment and successful accomplishment of the mission.
- May occasionally be required to work other than normal duty hours; overtime may be required.

Qualifications
GENERAL EXPERIENCE : Administrative or clerical experience, education, or training which demonstrates the candidate's ability to perform the duties of the position. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE : Must have at least 36 months experience, education or training program or managerial experience in a type of work or a combination of functions directly related to the business or industry position to be filled or in comparable work or functions. Experience developing and recommending policy; organizing and carrying out specific programs, evaluating and recommending changes in methods of operations. Experience in supervisory, staff or technical work which included study, analysis or evaluation leading to the development or improvement of managerial or administrative policies, practices and procedures. Experience preparing written communications and oral presentations.

High School Diploma or GED.

A GS-1101-11, AIRCRAFT MAINTENANCE COORDINATOR:
- Responsible for the total squadron maintenance program, manages the overall direction of the maintenance effort, and enforces safe maintenance practices.
- Ensures that a pilot pickup is accomplished for critical parts in order to expedite repairs of Not-Mission-Capable aircraft that receive the highest priority and depends on the critical need for the aircraft and its return to service.
- Participates in establishing the monthly and weekly maintenance plans.
- Evaluates workload requirements and makes changes to aircraft utilization schedules as required.
- Controls and coordinates maintenance activity on the flightline.
- Monitors aircraft maintenance in progress and evaluates estimated completion time against scheduling and planning requirements.
- Reviews work in progress or upon completion for compliance with policies and procedures.
- Determines methods necessary to meet mission requirements including authorizing and directing cannibalization on assigned aircraft.
- Works closely with the expediter and MOC to ensure that actual aircraft status matches the aircraft status reported in the automated reporting system.
- Understands, executes, and coordinates specific disaster control duties including the provisions contained Air Force instructions, with regard to movement of aircraft, support equipment, and evacuation of flightline personnel.
- Maintains a current on-base disaster map with cordon overlay and appropriate checklists for use during disasters or exercises.
- Other duties as assigned.
