As a Manager of Solutions Engineers in NetApp's US Public Sector covering Federal Civilian Agencies, you will lead a team to grow NetApp's relevance and market share in your assigned districts. As you guide and support your teams to successful outcomes, you:

  • Practice customer-centric thinking
  • Leverage technical acumen to define effective go-to-market strategies
  • Effectively navigate and leverage resources on behalf of your teams and customers
  • Identify and cultivate internal and external partnerships which are critical to your team's success
  • Incubate and/or execute on projects or programs to improve performance in your market/location


The most effective candidate for this role will augment team leadership with targeted customer and partner engagement, leading from the front in interactions with key customer executives and partners. An existing understanding of the NetApp portfolio (product positioning, solution applicability, and value proposition in a broader industry context) is desired but not required.

Must reside in DC, MD, VA (DMV) area for this role.

Job Requirements

Your daily work will include the following activities:

  • Responsible for concept, design and cost proposal development of technical solutions
  • Provide ongoing subject matter expertise for technology innovations and solutions development
  • Uses in-depth product knowledge to provide technical expertise to sales staff and the customer through sales presentations and product demonstrations
  • Develop cost models to support RFP proposals
  • Coach and develop team members


Education

The ideal individual for this role will possess the following strengths:

  • Creativity and thought leadership to identify and execute on efforts to positively impact the business in your assigned market/location
  • Ability to coach, equip, and support team members for maximum effectiveness
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a matrixed organization - and to identify and mobilize resources on behalf of the team
  • Compelling industry, technology, and partner experience to create and execute a go-to-market plan in your market/location.
  • Effectiveness in selecting, hiring, and developing results-oriented professionals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills - including presentation skills and ability to dialog with senior and executive leadership

Ideally, you have the following education and experience:

  • Secret clearance required; Top Secret preferred
  • 8+ years experience, including 1-5 years experience as a people manager preferred
  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, or another relevant academic discipline or equivalent experience is highly desired. A Graduate degree is preferred.


Compensation:
The target salary range for this position is 251,600 - 325,600 USD. The salary offered will be determined by the candidate's location, qualifications, experience, and education and may be outside of this range. The range is based on 'On Target Earnings' (OTE) representing the total potential earnings, which is the sum of the base salary and potential commission earned when performance targets are achieved. Final compensation packages are competitive and in line with industry standards, reflecting a variety of factors, and include a comprehensive benefits package. This may cover Health Insurance, Life Insurance, Retirement or Pension Plans, Paid Time Off (PTO), various Leave options, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU's). These offerings are subject to regional variations and governed by local laws, regulations, and company policies.
