Job Description:
We are seeking a Data Engineer - Object Based Intelligence (OBI) Advanced Analytic Method Augmentation to design, build, operate and maintain data management systems for intelligence needs that collect, store, and process data that enables high quality data-driven decisions and actions. to This work will support multiple DIA initiatives, including the Machine-Assisted Rapid-Repository System (MARS), Object Management Services (OMS), and Object-Based Intelligence (OBI).
Work locations vary throughout the National Capital Region (NCR), with Reston, VA and Washington, DC being primary locations.

Job Description:

Responsibilities include:
Data Engineering specifically:
- Design intelligence data storage, access, utilization, integration and management.
- Collaborate to determine, create, and populate high-quality data architectures, structures, and systems.
- Plan, design, and optimize data throughput and query performance.
- Support the selection, upgrades, and implementation of backend database technologies, to include their configuration, utilization, and optimization of the full data pipeline infrastructure. (e.g., SQL, NoSQL, HPC, etc.).
- Support data content, volume, Extract, Transition, Load (ETL), and rhythm for queries and analysis to achieve desired outcomes.
- Manage complex, long-term projects involving design, development, and installation of new information systems.
- Perform technical studies to ensure the design meets user requirements.
- Conduct testing and promote the integration of new databases within the existing IT infrastructure.
- Discover sources of redundancy and design solutions for efficient integration or consolidation.
- Reduce costs of storage and maintenance by eliminating redundancy to improve the enterprise.
- Create test plans and scenarios; execute and document database test activities.
- Conduct operational readiness testing and transitional user support.
- Produce technical data/reports outlining the performance characteristics of databases and data services.
- Conduct assessments of trends and determine the impact of emerging technologies on the infrastructure.
- Identify and leverage containerization capabilities (e.g. Docker, Kubemetes, etc.).
- Identify and leverage infrastructure as code tools.
- Manage data management system to ensure repeatability and automation.
- Design, develop, test, and implement unstructured data management solutions, content extraction and tagging capabilities, data integration solutions, and complex data web services.
- Minimum 8 years of experience related to analytic enabling with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years.
- Bachelor's degree in a related area from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education.
- Demonstrated comprehensive mission knowledge and skills that affirms completion of all developmental training and related experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate understanding from information that may be incomplete, indirect, highly complex, seemingly unrelated, and / or technically
advanced. Ability to structure analytic questions based on trends in reporting and a range of analytic perspectives from other analysts, organizations, and intelligence disciplines. - Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal oversight and direction.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate and work with other IC members on information sharing, driving collection, and addressing analytic disputes and conflict resolution.
- Demonstrated ability to develop concise, insightful, and comprehensive products for defense intelligence.
- Demonstrated ability to guide teams in researching multifaceted or critical problems.
- Master's degree in a related area and at least 12 years of related experience (with at least a portion of the experience within the last 2 years), or a Bachelor's degree in a related area and at least 17 years of related experience.
