Location: Chantilly, VA
Clearance: Active TS/SCI with full scope polygraph
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and maintain database architectures supporting mission-critical applications and ensuring efficient data storage, retrieval, and integrity.
• Create and manage database schemas, define table relationships, and apply data modeling best practices.
• Develop and optimize PL/SQL scripts to automate data transformation, processing, and system tasks.
• Implement and support ETL pipelines and data warehousing solutions for large-scale data ingestion, integration, and reporting.
• Monitor and analyze database performance; identify bottlenecks and apply tuning techniques to improve responsiveness and reliability.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to support application integration, security requirements, and data access controls.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database issues to ensure minimal downtime and operational continuity.
• Maintain documentation for schema updates, data flows, and system configurations to support compliance and sustainment.
Required Qualifications:
A qualified Oracle Database Engineer will perform the following duties and responsibilities, but are not limited to:
• Database Design- strong understanding of database structure, design principles and data modeling
• Database Modeling- experience in creating/managing database schemas, defining relationships between tables, and ensuring data integrity
• Scripting and Automation- Strong PL/SQL scripting experience to support data transformation and automation of routine tasks
• Data Warehousing and ETL- experience with data warehousing concepts and ETC (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
• Performance Analysis and Tuning- ability to identify and resolve database performance issues
Desired Qualifications:
• Programming Languages- experience working with Python would be a plus
• HRM Systems Data- Understanding of HRM Systems data would be a plus
