O&M Network Engineer

Job Summary:

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking an experienced TS/SCI Cleared Operations & Maintenance (O&M) Network Engineer to join our team on-site in Lorton, VA. In this role, you will play a critical part in designing, implementing, and maintaining complex network systems for our customers. You will collaborate with customer and Microsoft teams to deliver technical solutions that meet strategic objectives and ensure operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver technical presentations and consult with customer staff on network solutions.
• Assist in designing, configuring, and deploying customer network systems.
• Participate in infrastructure design and deployment activities.
• Develop detailed documentation for customer systems and objectives.
• Perform hands-on implementation and configuration of network devices.
• Capture customer requirements and translate them into actionable solutions.
• Support technical strategies and compliance with control objectives.

Required Qualifications

• 5-8 years of demonstrated performance in network engineering.
• Expertise in network device configuration, CLI navigation, patch deployment, and troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of WAN/Internet transport and routing technologies (BGP, MPLS, SD-WAN).
• Proficiency in Layer 2 and Layer 3 protocols and network mapping for efficiency and resiliency.
• Experience with cloud networking technologies (Azure Virtual Networks, ExpressRoute) and integration with on-prem environments.
• Familiarity with cloud orchestration and network device management.
• Understanding of Layer 1 technologies (cable plant, circuits) and their limitations.
• Knowledge of network security methodologies (STIGs, KG's, red-over-black transport) and traffic management.
• Relevant Microsoft product training and certifications preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent industry experience.
• TS/SCI Security Clearance

Compensation:

· Pay Range: $130,000-$160,000/a year **depending on experience**
