The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Software Engineer. In this role, you will perform software development tasks supporting Navy programs. The successful candidate will have experience and knowledge of coding in Java/C++ on a Linux Operating System.
This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate will be required to hold an active government Secret security clearance.

Basic Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- BS in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent STEM field and at least 1 year of related experience.
- Development, integration, troubleshooting experience with the Linux/Unix Operating System.
- Experience in software development, integration, troubleshooting using Java.
- Experience developing scripts using Bash or Python.
Desired Skills:
- RxJava or familiarity with related technologies (Kotlin Coroutines, Flow)
- Database experience (Mongo, Postgres, or other)
- Inter-process messaging middleware experience (gRPC, Artemis)
- Java multithreading experience
- 5+ years of a combination of Linux, scripting/software development, and configuration management experience
- Experience with containerization or orchestration technologies
- Basic understanding of Agile Full software life-cycle development
- Ability to integrate, test and troubleshoot and refactor software systems
- Familiar with performance optimization and evaluation tools (JVisualVM, JConsole, JProfiler)

Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
