We are experiencing growth and we are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Lead in Orlando, FL.

You will be the Mechanical Engineering Lead - Sniper Programs for the Advanced Weapons Systems Team. Our team drives the design, development, and production of next generation sniper platforms, integrating electro mechanical packaging, materials, thermal, stress, and optics expertise to deliver mission critical solutions.

What You Will Be Doing
As the Mechanical Engineering Lead you will own the end to end mechanical design effort, steering a multidisciplinary team while collaborating closely with engineering counterparts, program leadership, quality, global supply chain, production operations, and LM Aero's F 16 pylon sourcing group. You'll mentor early career designers, champion casting and machining excellence, and steer both production and non recurring engineering (NRE) activities.

Your responsibilities will include:
• Lead and inspire the mechanical design team, defining scope and priorities across electro mechanical, material, thermal, stress, and optics domains.
• Coordinate with program managers, quality engineers, supply chain partners, and production ops to ensure seamless transition from concept to low rate production.
• Serve as the primary liaison with LM Aero for F 16 pylon sourcing and other external suppliers.
• Mentor and develop junior mechanical engineers, fostering a collaborative and growth focused culture.
• Apply deep casting and precision machining knowledge to support supplier qualification and manufacturing readiness.
• Drive hardware non conformance disposition, leading Configuration Change Boards, Failure Review Boards, and Material Review Boards.
• Oversee NRE projects, ensuring design integrity, schedule adherence, and cost effectiveness.
• Conduct site visits to supplier and customer facilities as needed to validate performance and resolve issues.

Further Information About This Opportunity:
This position is in Orlando, FL.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
-B.S. Mechanical Engineering (or related) degree
-10+ years of progressive mechanical engineering experiences
-Leadership experience as an IPT lead or leader of project or multidisciplinary teams
-Active Secret Clearance or Ability to Obtain
-Experience working with fabrication shops and build, integration and test of mechanical hardware
-Fluent / experienced in Creo Parametric and PTC Windchill
-Experienced dispositioning non-conforming hardware (Quality defects, workmanship, etc)
Desired Skills:
-Structural design experience, including castings or complex machined parts
-Opto-Mechanical design experience desired
-Experience with control account management (CAM)
-Proposal experience (Preparing or leading preparation of basis of estimates)
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
