Ventus Solutions is seeking a skilled Joint Operations Planner Space Domain with deep expertise in Space Domain integration to support mission engineering, analysis, and integration initiatives for the Office of the Undersecretary for Defense for Research and Engineering (OUSD(R&E)). The ideal candidate will deliver operational and analytical insights that directly inform future capability investments within the Planning, Programming, and Budgeting Execution (PPBE) process. This position plays a critical role in advancing Joint All-Domain Operations, ensuring alignment and validation of requirements through the Joint Capabilities Integration and Development System (JCIDS). Candidate will evaluate legacy architectures, assess new technologies, and integrate emerging space capabilities into modernized force designs—enabling the next generation of space-informed joint warfighting concepts. Required Experience:

Operational & Analytical Expertise: Minimum 7 years in operations research, mission engineering, systems engineering, or operational analysis.
Mission Planning Experience: At least 5 years supporting mission planning and analysis involving mission threads, operational plans (OPLANs), CONOPS, CONEMPs, and defense systems evaluation.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: 3 years working with multidisciplinary teams—including engineering, operational planning, and technical stakeholders—across organizations such as the Joint Staff, Combatant Commands, Military Services, Intelligence Community, or OSD.
Modeling & Simulation Proficiency: 3 years applying modeling, simulation, and analysis (MS&A) techniques to defense operational or system-level studies.
Defense or Joint Operations Background: 2 years in joint operations, combat systems, R&D, S&T, or mission planning environments.
Analytical Acumen: Demonstrated ability to conduct data-driven assessments and present findings in support of complex decision-making.
Communication & Teamwork: Strong written and verbal communication skills with a proven record of effective collaboration in fast-paced environments.
Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, Computer Science, Management Science, Physics; OR possess a certificate from advanced Professional Military Education relevant to Military Training and/or Military Planning
U.S. Citizen with Top Secret Clearance and SCI Eligibility.


Desired Experience:

3+ years supporting USSPACECOM, USSF, Joint Staff, or Service-level space planning initiatives.
Proven experience developing Space-related CONOPS, CONEMPs, and Intelligence Threat Briefs.
Deep understanding of DoD and USIC structures, with specific knowledge in Space Domain Awareness (SDA), Orbital Warfare, Electronic/Cyber Warfare, Cyberspace Operations, SIGINT, GEOINT, or Targeting Analysis.
Experience supporting Force Design, Space Operations Center (SOC) operations, or applying Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and simulation to space architectures.
Prior experience as a Combatant Command or Joint Staff J5/J3 planner, ideally with JSCP/GFMAP build participation.
Leadership in major exercises (Joint Warfighting Assessment, GLOBAL SENTINEL) integrating space elements.
Graduate of an advanced warfare planning school such as SAMS, SAW, JAWS, MAWS, or SAAS.
