Job Description
Join a Team that's Shaping the Future of IT Support
At BAE Systems, we're dedicated to delivering innovative solutions that make a meaningful impact. As a Principal Telecommunication Engineer for POTS Telecom, you'll play a critical role in supporting 24/7/365 remote operations of the Enterprise Service Desk (ESD) Plain Old Telephone Service (POTS) telecom systems for a large government enterprise contract, serving the customer. This is a unique opportunity to work on mission-critical telecom systems, ensuring reliable voice and digital initial contact support for all IT-related contacts. Aligned with federal standards like NIST, FISMA, and ITIL 4 practices, you'll maintain telecom infrastructure, resolve incidents swiftly, and enhance service availability to support mission-critical IT communications in a high-volume, always-on environment.
As a senior telecommunication engineer, you'll be responsible for operating and monitoring 24/7/365 ESD POTS telecom systems, providing remote initial contact support, and performing first-call resolution activities. You'll diagnose and resolve common POTS telecom problems, escalate complex issues to Tier 2 support, and conduct routine maintenance, configuration changes, and testing of POTS systems. Your expertise will help drive seamless integration, compliance, and secure telecom operations.
In this role, you'll have the opportunity to work on exciting projects, including the development of POTS telecom solutions that support mission-critical initiatives. You'll collaborate with stakeholders to integrate POTS support with broader IT services, contributing to knowledge bases and process refinements aligned with ITIL incident management. If you're passionate about telecom engineering, and have a strong track record of delivering results, we want to hear from you.
