Overview

The Work:

The IT Operations Specialist, Senior/Lead will provide leadership and expertise in IT operations and security compliance, supporting classified and unclassified systems. This role acts as a liaison between IT departments and various stakeholders, ensuring compliance with federal regulations, overseeing system lifecycle processes, and managing secure IT environments. The role also includes overseeing IT workflows, resolving technical issues, managing provisioning, and producing documentation, all while adhering to the Mission, Vision, and Core Values of Cayuse.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Serve as the primary liaison between organizational workforce members and IT departments for operational needs and challenges.
  • Study and implement federal IT security regulations applicable to operations, ensuring compliance with Department of Defense standards.
  • Prepare manuals, policies, and procedures for the handling, storing, and documenting of classified or proprietary records and materials.
  • Develop and manage IT lifecycle processes, including hardware/software upgrades and replacements.
  • Investigate IT-related security violations, preparing reports and implementing corrective measures.
  • Conduct IT security and compliance education sessions for employees.
  • Handle information systems security management tasks, including NIPR/SIPR account access compliance.
  • Manage IT taskers issued by higher commands and ensure timely completion.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve classified/unclassified systems issues, patch security vulnerabilities, and manage compliance with security protocols.
  • Take ownership of provisioning and management of government-furnished equipment (including iPhones and business systems).
  • Provide technical briefings and serve as a communication hub for IT updates, policies, and changes.
  • Collaborate with leadership to create use cases, operational standards, and procedural documentation to improve IT workflows.
  • Previous experience supporting government IT organizations.
  • Proven track record managing IT compliance for classified/unclassified environments and assisting with DoD cybersecurity guidance.
  • Background in managing lifecycle upgrades and enhancing user access systems in enterprise IT environments.
  • Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need:
  • 5 Years of Experience
  • Four additional years of applicable experience may be substituted for the degree.
  • Secret Security Clearance is required
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.
  • Background in developing and administering IT industrial security procedures for classified/proprietary materials or documentation.
  • Demonstrated ability to study, implement, and adhere to federal IT and security regulations (e.g., DoD/NIST standards)
  • Proficiency in IT troubleshooting for hardware, software, networks, and mobile devices (including Purebred for iPhones)
  • Functional knowledge of Active Directory, Windows operating systems, and IT asset management
  • Proficiency in MS Office tools, including Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel.

  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively on multifunctional teams.
  • Agile learner, adaptable to evolving IT requirements and policies while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Working Conditions:
  • Professional on-site office environment.
  • Ability to work in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
