The Aegis Ashore Senior Network Engineer is the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Consolidated Afloat Network & Enterprise Services (CANES) and Automated Digital Network System (ADNS). Supporting the US Navy's Aegis Ashore site in Deveselu, Romania providing corrective and preventative maintenance, repair, alignments and assessments, monitor and analysis of system conditions and assist their military counterparts in maintenance and training engineering and network requirements. Provides Subject Matter Expert (SME) expertise in troubleshooting system issues and implementing upgrades as needed. Will play a supporting role in achieving the U.S. Navy's goals by providing expertise assisting to resolve CASREPs and during CMAV's and SRAs. This position plays a critical role in NATO's integrated missile defense architecture conducting operations to counter evolving ballistic missile threats.
CORE FUNCTIONS / JOB DUITES
Ability to perform the following independently:
Lead a team of administrators and engineers in the design, development, and implementation of networking architectures and systems, including leading network projects such as migrations, large-scale upgrades, and integration with cloud or hybrid environments.
Develop and implement best practices for Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) and Configuration Management (CM).
Oversee the implementation of Network policies, standards, and best practices.
Perform detailed analysis of networking systems and technologies, making recommendations for improvements and optimizations.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies, tools, and vendors for network enhancements.
Collaborate with DoD partners, stakeholders, security, and other IT teams to ensure system interoperability and align network strategy with organizational goals.
Brief sponsors and stakeholders on networking design and technologies.
Provide technical leadership and guidance to team members, mentoring and developing junior Network Engineers.
Serve as an escalation point for complex network issues and root cause analysis, complying with industry regulations and network security at an enterprise level.
Architect, design, and deploy advanced network solutions to support business objectives and future growth, driving significant impact through leadership, improving processes, and solving complex problems, influencing outcomes across multiple teams or departments.
SKILLS & ABILITIES
Minimum of six (6) years and an expert in:
Troubleshooting
Networking protocols, principles, & technologies
DoD Networking policies and procedures, preferred
Network Design
CI/CD and CM best practices and tools
Configuring and managing network devices
Network monitoring tools and security implementations
Cloud networking concepts
Security measures and frameworks
Automation tools for network management

VM, preferred
EDUCATION & CERTIFICATIONS
GED and/or equivalent years of experience
Preferred (BS STEM Degree)
CASP + Required
Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) Required
IT Operating System Certification, (i.e. LINUX, Microsoft, etc) Required
OSHA Hazwoper certified (required after start)
Red Cross CPR (required after start)

PAY RANGE
$100,000.00 to $ $120,000.00 annually, DOE. Additional international allowances will be provided

SECURITY CLEARANCE
Candidates must have an active clearance OR the ability to obtain a US Government security clearance and will be subject to a US security background investigation (i.e. favorable background investigation / credit score). Additional eligibility requirements for access to various levels of classified information may also be required. An active security clearance is highly desirable.
