NexGen Data Systems is seeking a Corporate Enterprise Network (WAN) Network Engineer to work under general supervision developing the requirements of a product from inception to conclusion. The ideal candidate will develop required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems. The government owned network and underground cable consist of a corporate, campus-wide CISCO LAN plant with Gigabit switching and routing to internal servers and external networks. Coordinates with the Vendor PM, COTRs, and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters.
Roles & Responsibilities:
• Duties are to design, architect, implement and sustain network capabilities supporting DLA Google Cloud Platform (GCP) including comprehensive technical support, installation, configuration, monitoring, security, patching, vulnerability mitigation and administration of network solutions using vendor “best practices” in relation to supporting DLAs GCP Infrastructure.
• Responsible for designing and securing scalable network architectures within GCP, including Virtual Private Cloud (VPC), subnets, routing, firewalls, load balancing, and implementing hybrid connectivity.
• Provide Network Engineering services including network architecture, advanced troubleshooting and day-to-day support operational support.
• Adherence to J6 Change Management process for all changes to network design, resources, and
• components.
• Design, implement and manage network and virtual network components within the GCP enclave.
• Solutions are native GCP offering or DLA standard solutions.
• Components and solutions required to support include, but not limited to: Subnets, Routing, Security groups, Firewall solutions native to GCP and/or Checkpoint, Google Cloud Firewall Endpoints, DNS, DHCP, Load balancers, F5 web application firewall & reverse web, and Private Service Connect.
• Capture and send all Operating System and Database resource logs to DLA enterprise solutions such as SPLUNK in compliance with the cybersecurity DLA RMF and Audit Log.
• Create and provide configuration documentation, Standard Operating Procedures, administrative technical guides, infrastructure diagrams.
• Collaborate with program managers, project managers, system managers, system developers, and DLA
• Information Technology (IT) and Information Assurance (IA) professionals to ensure integration with GCP and other cloud services and DLA IT solutions.
• The Contractor shall be required to perform actions necessary to support and participate in security audits, cybersecurity Cloud Vulnerability Assessments (CVA), and will be responsible for identifying, hardening, and/or recommending industry best practices to ensure DoD operational standards are met.
• Creating Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) reports to track system compliance

Desired/Required Skills:
• Active Department of Defense Secret level security clearance required.
• DoD Approved 8570 / 8140 OS and Cybersecurity certifications required.
• IA Level: IAT II 8570.01-M Baseline Certification: CISCO Certified Network Associate Plus Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) required.
• 6-9 years’ relevant hands-on experience.
• Three (3) years hands-on experience supporting Department of Defense (DoD) IT hosting solutions.
• Five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience including at least two projects in technical areas included in the related task area specified in the Statement of Work. At least one project must have occurred within the past three (3) years.
• Expert experience with a COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet LAN and associated software and hardware equipment.
