Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Project Engineering Advisor to support the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC/HNJ) Cyber and Network (C&N) Directorate. This role is ideal for a highly experienced engineer—preferably with prior United States Air Force or DoD experience—who can provide technical leadership and partner closely with the IPT Engineering Lead. While deep engineering expertise is the core requirement, experience in program/project management and government acquisitions is highly valued. This is a full-time, on-site position at Hanscom Air Force Base, Bedford, Massachusetts.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide engineering leadership, technical direction, and subject matter expertise to ensure program requirements align with Air Force objectives.
• Collaborate with the IPT Engineering Lead to assess technical approaches, requirements, and risk.
• Support engineering reviews, milestone decisions, and documentation to ensure compliance with DoD standards.
• Develop and present technical briefings, schedules, and reports to senior leadership.
• Advise program leadership on engineering solutions that balance cost, schedule, and performance goals.
• Identify technical risks in contract execution and recommend mitigation strategies.
• Offer engineering input on acquisition strategies to ensure solutions meet operational requirements.
• Work with cross-functional teams to integrate engineering expertise into lifecycle sustainment, risk management, and system development.
Required Qualifications
• Current Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility prior to selection.
• Master’s degree in a STEM field (engineering preferred).
• 10+ years of engineering experience in systems engineering, technical program execution, or defense acquisition.
• Strong familiarity with DoD and Air Force environments, including classified settings.
• Experience in program/project management and government acquisitions is highly desirable.
• PMP or DAWIA certification is a plus, but not required.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with Air Force Life Cycle Management processes.
• Military background: Prior service as a mid-to-senior grade officer (O-4 to O-6) in the U.S. Air Force is highly desirable.
