Position Summary
Odyssey has an exciting new opportunity for a Journeyman Small Arms Planner/Scheduler supporting the USAF Small Arms Program Office (SAPO). Their mission is to manage and sustain all pistols, machine guns, shotguns, rifles, carbines, grenade launchers, ceremonial weapons, mortars, squad/sniper rifles, and light machine guns used by the United States Air Force. SAPO also manages the Sighting Targeting and Night Observation (STANO) program and provides rapid technology development, testing, and fielding capabilities for weapons and STANO systems. This is a full time, onsite position located at Robins AFB.

Responsibilities
Duties include, but not limited to:
- Pre-plan gun systems and exchangeable end items prior to scheduled depot repair.
- Develop and revise labor, material, equipment, facility, and skill requirement standards in support of workload.
- Use engineering techniques such as methods time measurement, time studies, work sampling, and estimates to develop/maintain labor standards.
- Determine the impact of proposed workload changes on work packages.
- Maintain Bill of Material (BOM) based on SAPO and/or USAF Gunsmith Shop (GSS) requirements.
- Develop Bills of Work (BOW), work control documents, and requests for quote (RFQs) as required.
- Ensure financial soundness for areas of responsibility and report discrepancies immediately.
- Support depot productivity goals and ensure adherence to maintenance and schedule requirements.
- Develop, implement, analyze, and revise the master production schedule for small arms and light weapons depot throughput.
- Integrate and synchronize all production schedules for current and out-year requirements across SAPO programs.
- Prepare throughput plans and work requirements and recommend commitment of SAPO/GSS resources.
- Evaluate lead-time changes and assess unanticipated material or production problems affecting schedules.
- Monitor production line capability, work-in-progress, material availability, manpower, flow-path urgency, and schedule adherence.
- Revise the master production schedule based on actual or proposed changes.
- Determine the need for cannibalization actions and assess impacts to weapon flow processes.
- Monitor time-compliance TO actions and un-programmed work to minimize schedule impacts.
- Recommend production schedule adjustments to maintain critical flow timelines.
- Conduct research using historical productivity, quality, and capability data to identify process improvements.
- Support workload supportability studies such as surge capability assessments or second-source repair evaluations.
- Prepare reports and provide briefings to management, contractors, program managers, and external audit agencies.
- Assist SAPO/GSS scheduling efforts by monitoring maintenance, production, and supply data systems.
- Recommend new or modified data products or system applications to enhance scheduling efficiency.

Technical Skills
- Knowledge, experience, and demonstrated ability to perform tasks related to the technical/professional discipline being supported.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills to achieve successful outcomes within program/project guidelines.
- Experience in production scheduling, industrial engineering, maintenance planning, or depot-level logistics.
- Knowledge of labor standard development methods, including time studies and work sampling.
- Familiarity with BOM and BOW development.
- Experience integrating and maintaining production schedules across multiple programs.
- Understanding of depot maintenance processes, material flow, and work-in-progress analysis.
- Ability to analyze lead times, production constraints, material availability, and manpower impacts.
- Experience preparing technical reports and briefings for management.
- Proficiency with maintenance, production, and supply data systems.
- Experience with USAF Small Arms Program Office (SAPO) or USAF Gunsmith Shop (GSS) is preferred.
- Background in small arms or light weapons depot maintenance environments is preferred.
- Familiarity with STANO systems and USAF sustainment programs, is preferred.
- Experience supporting FIAR compliance efforts is preferred/
