Overview

The Work:

The Visual Information Specialist will collaborate with the client and other stakeholders to fulfill the mission, vision, challenges, initiatives, and to easily translate topics into graphic design within hours. This role will collaborate and take initiative to work with individuals across organizations to support all ad-hoc design needs; the individual should be flexible with workload and can prioritize, conceptualize, and produce design products on fast-paced/same-day timelines

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:
  • Proficient with industry standard design tools (i.e. Photoshop, Illustrator, Sketch, InDesign) and experience with corporate branding, logo design, corporate presentation design.
  • Leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design.
  • Self-motivated to prioritize and manage workload to meet critical project deadlines.
  • Will collaborate and take initiative to work with individuals across organizations to support all ad-hoc design needs; the individual should be flexible with workload and can prioritize, conceptualize, and produce design products on fast-paced/same-day timelines.
  • Translate raw data into visual information/representations for senior leadership with modern design/infographics style.
  • Will specialize in visual storytelling and marketing by creating descriptive, dynamic presentations to enhance visual communication.
  • Work with subject matter experts to understand the data, taking text heavy design into simple, yet effective concepts to get the message across to the audience.
  • Owns all areas of graphic design from concept through to completion.
  • Leader in communicating conceptual ideas and design for Microsoft Office presentations with an emphasis on efficacy in Microsoft PowerPoint, production of award certificates, visual displays/posters, and all other graphics/picture requirements as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

Qualifications - Here's What You Need:
  • Bachelor's degree in design (graphic, interaction, visual communications, product, industrial)
  • 3-5 years of relevant work experience, working with or for military experience required as well as marketing.
  • Secret Security Clearance is required.
  • Must be able to pass a background check. May require additional background checks as required by projects and/or clients at any time during employment.

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate in a clear, professional, and articulate manner.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with high-level attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast past environment with changing priorities; adaptable to change and a quick learner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to work well independently as well as on a multi-functional team.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately
  • Proficient in MS Office, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel.

Reports to: Program Manager

Working Conditions:
  • Professional on-site office environment.
  • Ability to work in Aberdeen Proving Ground, Maryland.
  • Must be physically and mentally able to perform duties extended periods of time.
  • Ability to use a computer and other office productivity tools with sufficient speed to meet the demands of this position.
  • Must be able to establish a productive and professional workspace.
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time looking at computer screen.
  • May be asked to work a flexible schedule which may include holidays.
  • May be asked to travel for business or professional development purposes.
  • May be asked to work hours outside of normal business hours.
