Radiance Technologies, a rapidly growing employee-owned company supporting US Army Space and Missile Defense Command (USASMDC), is seeking a skilled Optical / Beam Control Engineer to support high energy lasing and lethality testing conducted at Solid-state Laser Testbed (SSLT) located at the Limor / HELSTF Site. This individual will design, integrate, test, and analyze a variety of low- & high-power optical systems. This candidate will work as a part-time individual contributor and within a diverse, multi-discipline engineering team supporting and leading multiple, simultaneous efforts.

Required Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Hard Science with an Optics focus.
- Minimum of 15 years applicable experience
- US citizenship with the ability to obtain a DoD security clearance.
- Demonstrated proficiency in optics design & setup, instrumentation design & setup, data capture & analysis.
- Demonstrated ability to design, integrate, and test optical systems for high energy lasers.
- Demonstrated proficiency using a variety of optical metrology equipment.
- Demonstrated proficiency with the field testing of directed energy systems.
- Ability to travel ~10% time
Desired Skills:
- Master's Degree in Optical Engineering, Optical Science, Laser Engineering, Electro-Optics, Photonics, or a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Hard Science with an Optics focus.
- Security clearance
- Demonstrated proficiency using tools such as Zemax, MATLAB, LabVIEW, Image / Data Acquisition software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Demonstrated ability to assist customers with optical component recommendations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform in demanding, rapidly changing test environment.
