Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Full Stack Java Developer to join a respected provider of health, science, and technology solutions serving both government and commercial sectors. This position is in Laurel, MD and supports a multiyear IT modernization and transformation initiative for the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). As part of an Agile DevSecOps team, you will design and deliver secure, scalable, and high-performing software solutions using Java Spring Boot and React.

Qualifications of the Senior Full Stack Java Developer Include:
- Develop and maintain full-stack applications leveraging Java Spring Boot for backend services and React for front-end interfaces.
- Participate in the full Agile application development lifecycle, including microservice API design and implementation.
- Work with relational databases (Postgres) and NoSQL databases (Redis).
- Implement automated unit testing using tools such as JUnit, Mockito, and Cucumber.
- Collaborate within Agile Scrum teams to complete user stories and deliver production-ready code with minimal supervision.
- Support acceptance testing, load testing, troubleshooting, and performance tuning activities.
- Contribute to cross-functional teamwork and incremental feature development.
- Adhere to development standards and best practices; participate in regular code reviews.
- Communicate effectively with team members, management, and customers to explain functionality and resolve issues.
- Interface with external teams and stakeholders to demonstrate completed functionality and provide technical guidance.
Qualifications of the Senior Full Stack Java Developer Include:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen in order to obtain a Final Secret DoD clearance. *REQUIRED*
- Must be based in the DC-Baltimore area with ability to travel to office or customer sites as needed.
Education:
- Master's degree in a related discipline + 4 years of experience, OR
- Bachelor's degree in a related discipline + 8 years of experience, OR
- 12-15 years of software development experience without a degree.
Experience:
- Full-stack development using Java Spring Boot and React.
- Microservice-based architecture.
- Agile methodologies and tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
- 3+ years of experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD pipelines.
Preferred Skills:
- Docker and containerization.
- Apache Camel.
- Familiarity with DoD STIG compliance processes.

- Salary Range: $145,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year, based on experience and certifications
