Description:
You will be the Component Engineer for Lockheed Martin's Missiles and Fire Control team. Our team drives the design, development, and sustainment of advanced aerospace and defense systems for U.S. and allied customers. You will ensure that every component we procure and deliver meets the highest quality, reliability, and contract requirements.
What You Will Be Doing
As the Component Engineer you will support the full component lifecycle-from planning and documentation through supplier management and obsolescence control. You will work closely with program managers, subcontractors, and cross functional engineers to keep the supply chain flowing smoothly and the hardware on track for delivery. Your responsibilities will include:
• Planning, directing, reviewing, and coordinating all component related project documentation to satisfy customer contracts and internal standards.
• Creating and maintaining Source Control Drawings and accordance with Lockheed Martin processes.
• Reviewing component datasheets, evaluating part performance, and flagging potential obsolescence risks.
• Managing subcontractor supplied parts, including generating, reviewing, and approving part requests and releases.
• Collaborating with program management to align component schedules, cost targets, and quality metrics.
• Maintaining accurate configuration data in tools such as DOORS/Windchill and ensuring traceability throughout the product life cycle.
• Supporting root cause investigations and corrective actions when component issues arise.
• Communicating status, risks, and recommendations clearly to internal teams and external customers.
• Upholding security requirements by obtaining and maintaining a DoD Secret clearance (or eligibility to do so).

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must be able to obtain a secret clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor of Science degree or higher from an accredited college in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
• Basic knowledge of electronic components and it's usage in Circuit Card / Electrical Engineering design. Includes experience working with Passive components (resistors, capacitors, inductors, etc) or Active components (FPGAs, Op Amps, Memories, Processors, System on Modules, System on Chip, etc).
Desired Skills:
• Basic knowledge of component engineering tools / Product Lifecycle Management tools, such as: Windchill PLM or Agile PLM.
• Previous experience in Components Engineering with knowledge of electronic components and devices (i.e. Circuit Card Assembly (CCA), qualification tests, etc.)
• Basic knowledge of electrical component manufacturing process and physical property analysis.
• Proficient in using Silicon.
• Basic knowledge of Parts Management Plan (i.e. documenting component approval plan, component obsolescence management, lead-free reports, analysis and handling and counterfeit prevention etc.)
• Basic knowledge in missile weapon systems.
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
