Position Overview
Quantum Science Solutions (QSS) is supporting a mission-critical U.S. Government cyber operations program and is seeking a Cybersecurity Engineer. This role blends ServiceNow SecOps development, cybersecurity process engineering, and technical consulting to design, implement, and enhance automated Security Operations capabilities across the enterprise. The selected candidate will work directly with cybersecurity stakeholders to translate mission requirements into secure, scalable technical solutions, drive integration with enterprise security tools, and support continuous modernization of the customer’s ServiceNow SecOps environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Design, prototype, and implement ServiceNow SecOps applications, including:
o Security Incident Response (SIR): enrichment, correlation rules, automated playbooks
o Vulnerability Response (VR): scanner integrations, remediation workflows, patch automation
o Configuration Compliance (CC): exception handling, compliance dashboards, remediation tasks
o Threat Intelligence (TI): IOC ingestion, enrichment workflows, sightings search
• Support roadmap development for Splunk integrations, including SIEM alert ingestion and bi-directional incident synchronization.
• Develop custom integrations using IntegrationHub, REST/SOAP APIs, and MID Server with tools such as Splunk, Tenable, VirusTotal, Hybrid Analysis, and other SIEM/scanner/intel platforms.
• Build and maintain orchestration playbooks, Flow Designer workflows, Business Rules, Script Includes, and automated response actions.
• Document technical designs, system architectures, and process workflows aligned with secure coding standards and Agile methodologies.
• Lead workshops with SOC, Incident Response, and Vulnerability Response teams to capture requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Create and maintain Performance Analytics dashboards and KPIs to support real-time analysis of security posture.
• Provide sustainment support, troubleshoot issues, and help resolve incidents in the ServiceNow SecOps environment.
• Deliver knowledge transfer, training, and best-practice guidance to client staff.
Required Qualifications
• U.S. Citizenship required
• Active TS/SCI clearance
• 8+ years of experience in software development, IT security, or IT systems engineering
• 4+ years of ServiceNow experience, including 2+ years focused on SecOps applications (SIR, VR, CC, TI)
• Strong knowledge of ServiceNow administration, scripting, configuration, and custom application development
• Experience integrating ServiceNow with SIEM, vulnerability scanners, and threat intelligence tools
• Hands-on experience with Flow Designer, Orchestration, IntegrationHub, and MID Server
• Proficiency with JavaScript, HTML, XML, Angular, CSS, and integration technologies such as REST, SOAP, LDAP, and SSO
• Familiarity with federal cybersecurity frameworks including NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, CISA KEV, MITRE ATT&CK
• Strong communication, briefing, and documentation abilities
Preferred Skills
• Experience supporting DHS, DoD, or federal cybersecurity operations
• Experience deploying advanced SecOps workflows (IR triage, VR automation, compliance automation, threat intel enrichment)
• Familiarity with Splunk security use cases and alerting workflows
• Experience with MS Teams, Outlook, SharePoint, and Atlassian Jira/Confluence
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and consulting skills
• ISSEP or ISSAP certification desired

• ServiceNow Certified Application Developer
• ServiceNow Certified Implementation Specialist – SecOps (SIR, VR, CC)
• ITIL v4 Foundation

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, or related field and at least 8 years of directly relevant experience
