KBR is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional to join our team as a MQ-9 Sensor Operator (SO) in Patuxent River, MD, supporting UX-24 and the USMC MQ-9 MUX MALE program. The USMC MQ-9 MUX MALE program is part of the Marine Air-Ground Task Force Unmanned Expeditionary (MUX) initiative, delivering a Medium-Altitude, Long-Endurance (MALE) unmanned aircraft system based on the MQ-9A Reaper platform. Its mission is to provide persistent intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR), communications relay, electronic warfare, and maritime domain awareness, acting as a digitally interoperable "network bridge" for joint and naval forces in contested environments. This capability supports Force Design 2030 by enabling expeditionary advanced base operations and enhancing connectivity across sensors, platforms, and command networks in the Indo-Pacific and other operational theaters.

By joining KBR, you will be a part of the world's largest independent flight test organization supporting both U.S. Government and Commercial Agencies. Our highly talented and experienced aircrew services team has provided over 40 continuous years of Aircrew project support at Patuxent River. As a long-term incumbent and leader in flight test, the selected applicant will work within the NAVAIR test community composed of government, military, contractor, and industry personnel while supporting flight test.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • This position supports Developmental Test and Evaluation at UX-24 in support of Naval Test Wing Atlantic and the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD) located at NAS Patuxent River, MD.
  • Perform flying duties of a MQ-9 sensor operator and project officer.
  • Support a wide range of NAWCAD test and evaluation requirements to include test planning meetings, test plan development, event planning, test procedure and card development, flight briefings, test execution, post event support, test reporting, and deficiency reporting.
  • Domestic travel may be required in support of flight test activities.

Basic Qualifications
  • Must be a US Citizen.
  • Minimum seven to ten (7-10) years of aviation experience.
  • Past (required) or current (desired) MQ-9 sensor operator qualification.
  • Secret Clearance required; Must be able to obtain a Top-Secret Security clearance. Applicant selected may be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
  • Candidate must be able to operate effectively at remote work sites without direct supervision.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree desired.
  • Two (2) years of RDT&E experience is desired.
  • Current MQ-9 aircraft qualification and recent experience with mission systems T&E techniques, concepts, principles, and practices preferred.
  • 100 flight hours in RPA preferred.
  • Candidate must be able to organize and demonstrate effective oral and written communications and operate in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment.
  • Candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and similar computer-based productivity applications.

Scheduled Weekly Hours: 40 hours/week

Basic Compensation: $86,000-$125,000. The salary range posted is based on the national average. The offered rate will be based on the selected candidate's location, knowledge, skills, abilities, and/or experience, contract affordability, and in consideration of internal parity.

Additional Compensation: KBR may offer bonuses, commissions, or other forms of compensation to certain job titles or levels, per internal policy or contractual designation. Additional compensation may be in the form of sign on bonus, relocation benefits, short term incentives, long term incentives, or discretionary payments for exceptional performance.
