The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Chief CloudEco Platform Engineer ( Senior ) Boeing Software Factory to support our Boeing Software Factory - Platform & Services team located in Fairfax, Virginia. This position will focus on supporting the Enterprise Software Verticals (ESV) organization.
We are seeking an accomplished Senior Platform Engineering Leader to architect, build, and optimize scalable, reliable, and secure infrastructure for the Boeing Software Factory (BSF). This role provides technical leadership, fosters engineering excellence, and drives innovation across our cloud ecosystem and platform capabilities.
As a senior technical leader, you will define the strategic direction of our platform engineering efforts mentoring teams, influencing architectural decisions, and ensuring the performance, reliability, and security of mission-critical systems. You'll collaborate across functions to deliver cutting-edge solutions that enable speed, resilience, and compliance at scale.
This position has been identified as a virtual opportunity and will not require the selected candidate to relocate.

Position Responsibilities:
- Serve as the primary execution leader for the BSF Cloud Ecosystem Roadmap, ensuring alignment with business and technology strategies
- Lead the design and implementation of cloud-native, scalable, resilient, and secure software platforms
- Mentor and guide engineering teams, establishing technical standards, promoting design excellence, and driving consensus on complex technical challenges
- Champion best practices in automation, CI/CD pipelines, observability, and DevOps to improve velocity, quality, and system reliability
- Shape the long-term technology vision-influencing platform strategy, architecture decisions, and adoption of emerging technologies
- Partner with architects, software engineers, information technologists, and management to deliver platform capabilities that meet business and compliance requirements
- Ensure platforms are highly performant, cost-efficient, and continuously optimized for reliability, scalability, and security
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
- 10+ years of experience in large-scale software and system architecture, including distributed systems and cloud-native design
- 10+ years of experience in mentoring and leading technical teams while fostering a culture of excellence and innovation
- 7+ years of hands-on experience leading cross-organizational collaboration to obtain certifications in enterprise information governance, cybersecurity, and regulatory compliance
- 5+ years of experience in major cloud providers such as AWS, Azure, or GCP, including infrastructure as code, Zero-trust architecture, Configuration as Code and cloud security best practices
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- Strong programming and software design background with the ability to strategize, review, design, and deliver robust tools
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools, containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and automation frameworks
- Knowledge of customer's/supplier's organization, processes, policies and procedures, products, requirements, capabilities, practices, support resources, preferences, constraints, etc
- Ability to understand the big picture and the inter-relationships of all positions and activities in the system, including the impact of changes in one area on another area. This includes the ability to see and understand the inter-relationships between components of systems and plans, anticipate future events, and apply the principles of systems thinking to accelerate performance
- Knowledge of software architecture and design methodologies. Ability to synthesize software architectures and designs that meet requirements, characteristics and constraints
