VTC Technician

Task Overview
• Coordinate and manage the scheduling of numerous video teleconferencing (VTC) and voice bridge sessions, using different systems and connection methods to ensure optimal use of available assets. Communicate meeting details, updates, and modifications to all involved participants.
• Provide both initial and advanced-level technical support for VTC systems, diagnosing and resolving issues related to connectivity, performance, and system functionality. Assistance is directed primarily toward internal personnel and secondarily extended to DoD users connecting with USFF systems.
• Maintain an operational readiness level above 98%, ensuring all audiovisual and conferencing systems adhere to Navy, DoD, and industry standards.
• Oversee and facilitate daily scheduling and operation of VTC systems within USFF Headquarters, and when necessary, assist other DoD partners with conferencing support.
• Evaluate system performance, recommend upgrades or repairs, and identify opportunities to improve reliability and interoperability across the command’s communications infrastructure.
• Monitor VTC facilities continuously to identify issues early, ensure corrective maintenance actions are initiated promptly, and maintain consistent operational efficiency.
• Implement immediate solutions to recurring or critical system problems as they arise.
• Ensure all conferencing and AV systems comply with established internal security requirements.
• Independently manage daily tasks, schedules, and technical operations, informing leadership only of significant or sensitive matters.
• Deliver professional presentation and conferencing support, including equipment setup, maintenance, operation, and configuration management in meeting spaces, command centers, and auditoriums.

Experience Requirements
• Extensive experience with VTC operations, scheduling, and system management, including understanding of related hardware, software, and protocols.
• Strong knowledge of DoD and Navy communications processes, standards, and technologies applicable to VTC networks.
• Proven ability to operate, maintain, and support advanced conferencing and AV systems.
• Demonstrated skill in evaluating and integrating new equipment or technologies to improve conferencing capabilities.
• Experience supporting high-level meetings and events involving senior military and civilian leadership.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent hands-on experience managing video teleconference operations within a DoD environment.

Education
• High school diploma or equivalent; technical background in information technology preferred.

Security Clearance
• Active Secret clearance required.
