Description:
You will be the System Safety Engineer (SSE) Asc for the Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control team. Our team is responsible for ensuring the safety of products developed and sold to customers, with a focus on protecting the warfighter.
What You Will Be Doing
As the System Safety Engineer (SSE) Asc, you will be responsible for performing hazard analyses and recommending safety features to mitigate or eliminate hazards in system design, software, training, and procedures. A successful candidate will spend a majority of the time working in a team environment, with direction and guidance provided by a senior team member, with a focus on supporting the Air Dominance and Strike Weapons Line of Business.
Your responsibilities will include:
• Support the program by developing hazard analyses, software safety assessments, hazardous material management planning and execution.
• Help prepare presentation material and Technical Data Packages (TDPs) for technical reviews and customer briefings.
• Flow down system safety requirements to suppliers and verify design implementation.
• Assist in requirements development and verification.
• Review specifications, technical documentation, and design changes for impacts to system safety.
• Support customer and test/operational range requirements
• Participate in the development of testing activities to ensure safety requirements are satisfied.
• Participates in accident investigations involving damage to products or related facilities and assists in identification of causes and corrective actions.

MUST BE A U.S. CITIZEN - This position is located at a facility that requires special access. The selected candidate must have the ability to obtain a Secret Security Clearance.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college in an engineering discipline
• Strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to make formal presentations to large groups
• Interacts well in a team atmosphere with engineers, suppliers, program managers and customers
• Ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance
Desired Skills:
• Experienced with MS Office applications including high level of proficiency with Access and Excel
• Candidate should be a self-starter capable of performing tasks with little direction
• Effective analytical problem solving skills, the ability to perform detail-oriented work with a high degree of accuracy
• Able to learn and work with System Safety specific software tools
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
