Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Space Systems Test Engineer to join a leading aerospace program in El Segundo, CA, supporting flight hardware and specialized test equipment inside a 24/7 mission-critical test center. This role places you directly on the line with flight hardware , specialized test equipment, and mission-critical verification activities for next-generation space systems. You'll work in a small, high-impact engineering environment where your testing, automation, and instrumentation expertise directly influences spacecraft performance and delivery.
This is a fully onsite, 2nd shift role that requires an active TS/SCI security clearance.

Responsibilities of the Space Systems Test Engineer:
- Support the development and verification of test methods for flight hardware
- Perform detailed test procedures , instrumentation setup, and configuration definitions
- Execute automated testing and troubleshoot electronics equipment, hardware, and software
- Develop solutions for calibration system issues within limited scope
- Design test hardware, software, and systems to meet verification requirements
- Analyze, process, and format test data per internal and customer standards
- Collaborate in a tight production environment on small teams (1-5 engineers)
- Work on 2nd shift in a fully onsite, 24/7 production testing facility
- Operate safely within tight production spaces and maintain precise documentation
Qualifications for the Space Systems Test Engineer:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics, Data Science, or Computer Science
- 3-5+ years experience with specialized test equipment and electrical test methodologies
- 3-5+ years performing automated tests and troubleshooting electronics hardware & software
- Experience using software tools built in C#
- Ability to sit, stand, crouch, and maneuver through tight production environments for extended periods
Preferred Qualifications:
- 3+ years experience in a lab or production environment
- 3+ years experience with test instrumentation and/or test methods
- Experience supporting flight hardware testing in aerospace, defense, or satellite environments
- Familiarity with calibration systems, data formatting, or automated test development
Compensation & Benefits:
- $120,000 - $140,000 DOE
