Job Description: Precise Systems seeks a Senior Fuel Cell Engineer to collaborate with our Naval Research Laboratory (NRL) customer in Washington D.C.

Specific tasks include but are not limited to:
  • Independently write clear and complete technical reports and papers.
  • Independently create slide decks and deliver briefings on technical and programmatic (schedule, deliverables, etc.) topics.
  • Organize and execute test events with DoD customers and teams.
  • Collect, organize, analyze materials and fuel cell data to diagnose, characterize and improve electrochemical systems
  • Independently write reports and articles for publication in academic literature and/or the Defense Technical Information Center
  • Independently prepare and conduct presentations at scientific conferences and program reviews and fluently discuss research results as well as schedules, deliverables, and research challenges

Required Education:
  • B.S. or higher degree in science or engineering related to fuel cells and power systems
    • Examples include mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, chemical engineering, electrochemistry, and chemistry

Required Experience:
  • At least 6 years of experience:
    • Designing, developing, and working with fuel cell power systems and their components
    • Working with gaseous hydrogen generation, storage, and fueling systems
    • Designing, developing, and working with power electronics, controls, and data
      acquisition equipment for fuel cells and related electrical power systems
    • Familiarity with fuel cell related diagnostic techniques, such as electrochemical
      impedance spectroscopy (EIS) and continuous voltage monitoring

Preferred Certifications:
  • Familiarity with the DoD power and energy community
  • Familiarity with DoD test ranges
  • Experience with unmanned aircraft systems (UAS)
  • Experience with expeditionary power systems

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance. Due to the sensitivity of customer related requirements, U.S. Citizenship is required.

Compensation at Precise Systems is determined by various factors, including education, experience, skills, competencies, and contract-specific requirements. The salary range for this position is $107,738.00 to $180,000 (annualized USD). This range represents the standard pay for this role and is just one component of Precise Systems' total compensation package.
