Position Overview / Responsibilities for the Network Engineer:
• Lead the planning, deployment, integration, and testing of network upgrades across operational sites.
• Travel to remote locations—including Schriever Space Force Base, Alaska, Guam, and Europe—to perform network installations, troubleshooting, and system upgrades.
• Provide detailed status updates to program personnel and stakeholders throughout the deployment lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with internal and external teams to deliver reliable, secure, and efficient network solutions.
• Work under general direction, ensuring results meet operational and program objectives.

Required Experience for the Network Engineer:
• Hands-on experience with DoD integration processes, Agile and DevOps methodologies, and automated test tools.
• Proven ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced and evolving environment.
• Experience applying broad principles, theories, and concepts to deliver creative and thorough solutions to complex technical challenges.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to represent the organization and provide solutions to difficult technical issues.

Technical Skills:
• In-depth knowledge of network design, development, and testing methodologies.
• Strong understanding of the OSI model, TCP/IP, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
• Proficiency in network traffic analysis, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Expertise with firewalls such as Juniper, Fortinet, and Palo Alto.
• Working knowledge of UDP multicast, SONET, MSPP, VLANs, GRE Tunnels, and TCP/IP network design.
• Experience with multi-vendor switching and routing (Juniper, Cisco), WAN optimizers, TACLANEs, and optical transport equipment.
• Skilled in using Microsoft Office products, particularly PowerPoint and Visio, for documentation and presentations.
• A collaborative mindset, thriving in agile and team-oriented environments.

Education & Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Management Information Systems, or Information Technology; or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional experience, or 3+ years with a related Master’s degree.
• Active Secret Clearance required.
• DoD 8570 Certification: IAT Level II.
