Position Overview / Responsibilities for the Systems and Software Data Analyst:
Perform data analysis on complex algorithms to assess system performance, behavior, and functionality.
Present analysis findings to software engineers, product owners, senior program leaders, and customer representatives.
Develop and maintain tools and log parsers to support hands-on and automated analysis, leveraging languages such as MATLAB, Bash, Java, or Python.
Use spreadsheets, databases, and Linux command-line tools to execute in-depth data analysis.
Collaborate with engineering and program management teams to support software development lifecycles and ensure system reliability.
Work within a configuration-managed shared toolbox and maintain documentation of analytical tools and processes.
Required Skills for the Systems and Software Data Analyst:
Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of relevant experience, or a Master’s degree with 3 years of experience.
Strong understanding of systems and software engineering processes, principles, and lifecycles.
Demonstrated proficiency in data analysis, Linux environments, and use of analytical tools (MATLAB, Bash, Python, Java, etc.).
Ability to read and interpret Java, C++, and/or Fortran code.
Experience with DOORS, JIRA, Confluence, or other project management and collaboration tools.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to summarize complex data for technical and non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience supporting missile defense, command & control systems, intercept engagements, or space domain awareness programs.
Familiarity with GIT, CI/CD pipelines, sensor tracking, spatial coordinate frames, and ICDs.
Prior experience performing statistical and time series analysis on large data sets.
Proficiency with MS Office products.
Flexibility and willingness to take on new and unanticipated challenges.
