Senior Cybersecurity Engineer - Clearance Required

Job Description:
Cydecor is seeking a Senior Cybersecurity Engineer to develop, analyze, and lead cybersecurity strategies for advanced Navy combat systems. This role is ideal for an experienced security professional who thrives in a dynamic DoD environment, bringing technical expertise and policy acumen to ensure cyber assurance across multiple classification levels.

Responsibilities include:

• Develop cybersecurity requirements, policy standards, best practices, and guidance and procedures for combat systems.
• Conduct cybersecurity related research, analysis and coordination activities in support of DOD cyber assurance and policy efforts are multiple classification levels.
• Lead working groups to develop cybersecurity strategies to meet emerging threats.
• Perform analysis of cybersecurity, intelligence and information technology policy gaps for combat systems.
• Perform cybersecurity system engineering design, analysis and documentation of combat systems.
• Develop cybersecurity risk assessment analysis and risk mitigation plans for combat systems.
• Develop documentation of cybersecurity requirements, gap analysis, threat analysis, system engineering, risk assessment and mitigation for combat systems.
• Develop or use MBSE models to perform cybersecurity analysis.

Here's what you need:

• Experience:
  • Submarine-Launched Ballistic Missile (SLBM) program experience: minimum of 7 years; OR
  • 5 years program-specific Navy afloat/tactical combat systems experience; OR
  • 10 years general security engineering experience
• Certifications:
  • Minimum IAT Level II or higher per DoD 8570.01 (or successor).
  • If serving as a Privileged User (e.g., System Administrator, ISSO, IAO), must have a final adjudicated T-5/T-R investigation with IT Level-1 designation in JPAS and maintain compliance.
  • Completion of Operating System/Computer Environment (OS/CE) training for each version within six (6) months of start date (training includes assessment; vendor certification not required).
• Knowledge:
  • Deep understanding of cybersecurity engineering, military system specifications, and DoD Information Assurance policies for both land-based and afloat/tactical systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present complex information clearly and succinctly.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools and practices.
• Active engagement in DoD or Navy cyber policy development initiatives.
• Previous work within Naval combat systems, weapons systems, or C4ISR environments.

Security Clearance:

• Active Top Secret or higher required (SCI eligibility preferred).

Education:

• Bachelor's degree desired.

Work Schedule:

• Onsite, Monday-Friday (8 hours/day)
