Responsibilities of the Principal AI Engineer:
- Architect and lead enterprise-level AI and ML solutions for large-scale defense programs.
- Define and implement AI strategy, standards, and technical roadmaps.
- Ensure system scalability, compliance, and ethical model governance.
- Lead multidisciplinary engineering teams in secure, high-stakes environments.
- Evaluate and integrate emerging AI technologies for mission applications.
- Serve as a technical advisor to program leadership and external partners.
- Provide mentorship and oversight across all AI development efforts.
Qualifications for the Principal AI Engineer:
- Typically 8+ years of professional experience in AI/ML systems design.
- Recognized expertise in model architecture, deployment, and AI governance.
- Proven leadership in defense, aerospace, or other mission-critical domains.
- Advanced degree in Computer Science, AI, or related field preferred.
- Publication or patent history in AI/ML considered a plus.
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance.
Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary: $180,000 - $200,000 *Depending on years of experience*
