Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) was created with the purpose of providing integrated enterprise IT support to Federal customers both CONUS and OCONUS. CARS employs Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) with decades of experience working in the Federal marketplace.

Chenega Agile Real-Time Solutions (CARS) is seeking a Mid-Level Data Engineer & Enterprise Monitoring Specialist to collect, analyze, and visualize complex datasets, integrate enterprise monitoring, and deliver actionable insights. The ideal candidate ensures secure, accurate, and scalable data practices across cloud and classified environments while creating clear, interactive visualizations for diverse stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Collect, clean, and organize data from SQL/NoSQL databases, APIs, streaming services, and flat files to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Build, maintain, and optimize real-time ETL/ELT pipelines and data ingestion workflows for centralized repositories or data lakes.
  • Implement data validation checks to maintain data integrity and quality.
  • Automate data workflows using tools like Apache Airflow or similar schedulers.
  • Analyze large datasets to identify trends, anomalies, and actionable insights.
  • Perform data modeling and storytelling to transform raw data into usable information.
  • Work with enterprise monitoring tools (Grafana, Prometheus) to integrate event and service impacts into dashboards and visualizations.
  • Design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards, charts, and graphs to communicate insights effectively.
  • Translate monitoring and analysis results into operational metrics that support decision-making.
  • Utilize cloud platforms (AWS S3, Lambda, Glue; Azure Data Factory; GCP BigQuery) for storage, processing, and orchestration.
  • Contribute to secure, scalable, and cost-effective cloud data platforms.
  • Ensure all data solutions comply with DoD/Federal security standards, including encryption, access control, and audit logging.
  • Support classified data environments with strict adherence to TS/SCI protocols and governance policies.
  • Work cross-functionally with stakeholders, managers, data scientists, and analysts to translate requirements into actionable dashboards and visualizations.
  • Present findings and explain complex data to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Provide technical guidance, assistance, and training on tools, processes, and best practices.
  • Maintain up-to-date documentation of data systems, workflows, and business rules.
  • Promote best practices for data architecture, version control (Git), and CI/CD in data environments.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot data issues independently and collaboratively.
  • Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive tasks and streamline operations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years relevant experience or
  • Associate's Degree and 6+ years relevant experience or
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent and 8+ years of experience
    • Experience to include:
    • Proficiency in Grafana, Prometheus, or similar visualization tools.
    • Strong programming skills in Python (R or JavaScript a plus).
    • Experience with SQL and other database query languages.
    • Experience designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
    • Knowledge of cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP).
    • Familiarity with data warehousing, data modeling, version control, and workflow automation.
    • Experience in the Intelligence Community
  • TS/SCI clearance required


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Ability to work independently and yet be effective within a team setting
  • Must be capable of managing multiple efforts with time-related constraints in a fast-paced contracting environment
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with diverse internal and external stakeholder groups and individuals
  • Friendly presence, helpful attitude, good interpersonal skills, and ability to work well with others.
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, and other Office applications
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications, and experience working in a home office setting as well as the ability to train end users on frequently asked technical issues.
  • Ability to provide technical assistance and support over the phone; good phone skills, professional demeanor, and previous customer service experience strongly desired.
  • Good problem-solving skills; ability to visualize a problem/situation and think abstractly to solve it
