The AWS Security team, is responsible for creating, implementing, and overseeing Amazon's National Industrial Security Program (NISP). As a Security Program Manager supporting the AWS NISP, you will join a team of industry-leading security experts working with the U.S. Government to operate and continuously improve industry-leading security programs and processes in support of the Department of Defense and the Intelligence Community. This position requires innovative thinking balanced with a strong customer obsession and a focus on quality and delivering results. New position created due to appropriately staff against customer requirements.
AWS Security is looking for an exceptional security leader with a strong track record of developing, supporting, and maintaining security programs within cleared facilities, demonstrable program/project management experience, comprehensive program security knowledge, and a deep understanding of government security programs, processes, and requirements.
As a Security Program Manager, responsible for directing industrial security-related activities, you will own the execution of multiple security disciplines in support of fast-moving classified operations and manage a wide array of projects designed to protect personnel, National Security Information, and critical infrastructure from insider and external threats. Your program management skills are required to be as sharp as your security expertise, as you will liaise with all of the AWS Air-Gapped community, to ensure completion of security-related activities. You must obsess over internal and external customers and successfully deliver support and services in an environment where priorities shift extremely fast. You must be able to operate independently to manage security projects, continuously triage and prioritize accordingly, communicate clearly and compellingly (without PowerPoint), THINK BIG and outside the box, and deliver exceptional products. This position requires this Think Big leader to leverage an extensive network and be comfortable with communicating with senior customer and internal leaders (VPs).
This position requires that the candidate selected be a U.S. citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Key job responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership
- Lead AWS's National Industrial Security Program (NISP) across multiple classified facilities
- Serve as primary security liaison with senior government stakeholders and AWS leadership
- Direct development and implementation of security strategies aligned with DoD and IC requirements
- Oversee classified programs portfolio and manage security program budget
- Drive continuous improvement of security protocols and procedures
- Maintain compliance with NISPOM and relevant security frameworks
- Track and report program metrics to leadership
- Direct personnel, physical, information, and cyber security operations
- Lead incident response and risk mitigation strategies
- Ensure 24/7 security coverage through on-call rotation participation
- Manage security systems and infrastructure at classified facilities
- Lead and mentor security team members
- Build relationships with internal teams and external partners
- Develop security training programs
- Collaborate with engineering, operations, and legal teams
- Anticipate and address emerging security challenges

Basic Qualifications
- 5+ years of program or project management experience
- Bachelor's degree or 4+ years of industrial security experience
- 5+ years experience with NISPOM, NISP and hands on experience with DSS/DCSA Security Vulnerability Assessments and IC Assessments
- 5+ years experience with hands on contractor experience with Facility Clearance Level (FCL)
- 5+ years experience with personnel security, investigations, physical security, document control, information systems security, preparing and processing DD 254's, FOCI, and visitor control
- Current DSS/DCSA FSO Certification
- Current IC Certification
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a secure facility construction meeting ICD 705 requirements.
- Experience applying information assurance and information security policies and standards to include system administration tasks.
- Driven to provide your internal and the external customers with responsive and unparalleled support and you are dedicated to meet and fulfill the customer's expectations
- Desire to step outside the box and your comfort zone to take ownership of projects and domains not in your range of expertise

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $107,400/year in our lowest geographic market up to $229,700/year in our highest geographic market.
