Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Avionic Test Engineers to support a critical defense program in Cambridge, MA. The team is seeking skilled test engineers capable of configuring test environments, including hardware, software, and network configurations to replicate production environments in support of optimizing the B-52 bomber.
Clearance: Secret (ability to obtain)
Location: Cambridge, MA (100% on-site, 9/80 schedule)

Responsibilities of the Test Engineer:
· Designs, develops, and performs testing and verification of software products to ensure quality, reliability, and functionality.
· Collaborates with stakeholders to define software requirements, testing objectives, strategies, and assess testability.
· Creates comprehensive test plans, cases, and scenarios aligned with software specifications and requirements.
· Executes test cases and scenarios to validate functionality, performance, and safety, while identifying and reporting defects, issues, and potential vulnerabilities.
· Delivers test results and provides feedback on software design and functionality to support defect resolution and risk mitigation.
· Documents and maintains test plans, procedures, cases, artifacts, metrics, and data in compliance with privacy and security standards.
· Develops and sustains automated test scripts and frameworks to enhance testing efficiency and effectiveness.
· Oversees software project management tasks related to testing and verification across cross-functional teams.
· Configures and maintains a Hardware-In-the-Loop automation system to enable automated system-level software and hardware testing for avionics platforms.

Qualifications of the Test Engineer:
- Active Secret clearance (preferred), or ability to obtain
- Bachelor's degree and 3-8+ years of experience supporting a test environment
- Programming: C/C++, Python, MATLAB
- Avionics protocols: MIL-STD-1553, ARINC 429, CAN (preferred)
- FPGA familiarity, Git, signal processing
- Experience with Hardware in the loop (HIL) and AI tools (preferred)
- Experience with NI PXIe systems
- NI TestStand, NI VeriStand, NI LabView
Compensation of the Test Engineer:
- Total compensation based on experience level - $120,000 - $175,000+ **based on total years of experience as an AI Engineer and degree**
