Job Description:
We need an experienced Senior Database Administrator at NAVSEA's Safety and Regulatory Compliance Directorate (SEA 09) in support of the Navy Modernization (NM) Program. SEA 09P is responsible for developing and maintaining the Navy Modernization Process (NMP), policies, and supporting information systems that govern the planning, engineering, and execution of modernization across the surface fleet. This contract supports SEA 09P in advancing modernization process standardization, continuous improvement, and integration with the Navy's digital engineering and IT systems. In this role, you will oversee the management, maintenance, and security of database systems supporting modernization data, ensuring reliability, accuracy, and compliance with DoD and Navy standards
Responsibilities include:
The projected compensation range for this position is $140-165,000. There are numerous factors that can impact a final salary/hourly rate including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills and competencies that align to the role, work location, education/certifications, and a contract's Labor Categories.

Responsibilities include:
- Administers, tests, and maintains databases supporting modernization data systems.
- Implements cybersecurity and data compliance controls in accordance with DoD and Navy policies.
- Performs database tuning, backup, and recovery to ensure reliability and availability.
- Supports development and integration of database interfaces with modernization applications.
- Validates data accuracy, quality, and consistency across modernization systems.
- Prepares technical documentation, schema diagrams, and maintenance procedures.
- 15+ years of experience administering, testing, and implementing computer databases, and DOD/Navy Operations, and DoD/DoN Procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process).
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Computer Science.
- Experience with cybersecurity, data security, and compliance in a DoD environment.
- Master's degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related discipline.
- Database-specific certifications (e.g., Oracle, MySQL, SQL Server).
- Demonstrated applied knowledge of NIST Special Publication 800-37.
- Experience supporting Navy modernization or military fleet operations.
- Knowledge of Navy Modernization Program processes, including Ship Change Documents (SCDs) and NDE modules.
- Ability to maintain database integrity, security, and performance.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders across Navy commands.
- Interim or active Secret Clearance
- Bachelor's degree in Information Science/Computer Science.
- Onsite, Monday - Friday, 8 hours each day.
