The Impact You Will Create:

As a Team Lead, you will serve as both an API Architect technical leader and team lead for large-scale digital modernization programs supporting one of our customers. This role combines deep technical expertise with strong leadership and consultative skills to design, implement, and optimize API-driven architectures that enable secure, scalable, and interoperable solutions across complex enterprise environments.

Serving as both a hands-on API architect and Fearless Team Lead, you will guide cross-functional teams of engineers, analysts, and developers to ensure solutions meet performance, compliance, and mission objectives. You will also foster collaboration, continuous improvement, and innovation in alignment with Fearless's standards of delivery excellence.

Your Responsibilities in This Role:
  • Lead the architecture, design, and implementation of API-based integration and data exchange solutions across cloud and enterprise systems.
  • Establish and enforce best practices for API design, integration, deployment, and lifecycle management, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards for security, scalability, and performance.
  • Collaborate with architects, business analysts, engineers, and project managers on a range of initiatives including software development, infrastructure modernization, and system integration.
  • Define and document solution architectures that encompass application, data, and network layers for enterprise-scale environments.
  • Evaluate technology options and influence requirements to ensure architectural integrity and technical feasibility.
  • Provide architectural oversight and technical guidance to engineering teams, ensuring consistent implementation of design principles and best practices.
  • Lead DevOps integration and automation efforts, ensuring smooth delivery of APIs and applications through CI/CD pipelines.
  • Serve as a trusted technical advisor, translating architectural concepts into actionable strategies for both technical and business audiences.
  • Drive innovation through adoption of modern tools, frameworks, and architectural patterns that enhance delivery speed, reliability, and maintainability.
  • Mentor and coach team members to strengthen their technical capabilities and promote architectural thinking across the organization.
  • Manage delivery quality and performance, ensuring project milestones are met on time and within budget.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, earning trust through technical excellence, reliability, and transparency.
  • Identify opportunities for growth and optimization, recommending process or technology enhancements that improve delivery outcomes.
  • Support business development and proposal efforts by contributing architectural insights and technical solutioning expertise.
  • Lead one large or up to three small teams, ensuring successful project delivery in line with government contracting requirements and best practices.
  • Mentor and coach junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices to build their skills and competencies.
  • Conduct performance reviews, manage team resources, and drive continuous improvement to enhance team performance and outcomes.
  • Use metrics and data analysis to track team progress, allocate resources effectively, and ensure alignment with project goals.


Work Experience

  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related technical fi eld (or equivalent experience).
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance
  • Proven experience in API architecture, integration design, and system interoperability across enterprise or cloud environments.
  • Hands-on experience with API management platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Apigee, AWS API Gateway, Azure API Management, or similar technologies).
  • Deep understanding of API lifecycle management, RESTful and event-driven architectures, and authentication standards such as OAuth2 and JWT.
  • Expertise designing and implementing cloud-native, scalable, and secure architectures using AWS, Azure, or comparable platforms.
  • Strong background in DevOps and CI/CD practices, containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes), and automated testing or deployment pipelines.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams in designing and delivering large, complex technology solutions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to influence requirements and guide architectural decision-making.
  • Proven experience mentoring engineers, managing delivery quality, and conducting architectural reviews for compliance and best practice alignment.
  • Consultative expertise, including the ability to build customer intimacy, influence stakeholders, and collaboratively solution in partnership with business and technical teams.
  • Skilled at presenting architectural strategies and answering questions concisely and comprehensively for diverse audiences.
  • Experience supporting government or large enterprise projects of similar scale and complexity preferred.
  • Cloud Architect certifi cation (e.g., AWS Certifi ed Solutions Architect, Azure Solutions Architect) required.


Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to sit for extended periods while working on a computer or during meetings.
  • Must be able to travel occasionally to client sites or company meetings.
  • Ability to communicate effectively via phone, email, and in-person, requiring clear speech, listening, and written communication skills.
  • Ability to move within an office environment, including reaching for files, using office equipment, and occasional light lifting (up to 10 pounds).

The salary range for this position is:

Minimum Salary: $114,844

Salary Midpoint: $149,299

Maximum Salary: $183,752

Hiring Range for Role: $114,844 - $151,000

*For part-time roles, the salary will be pro-rated based on the full-time equivalent salary ranges listed above.
