Our DoD/Aerospace client is looking to fill an Advanced Space Systems Engineer position that just opened in Scottsdale, AZ. In this role, you will apply systems engineering principles to space-based systems, including digital signal processing algorithms implemented in hardware and software. To be considered, you will have a Bachelor's degree plus a minimum of 5 years of related experience.

Location: Scottsdale, AZ
Position: Advanced Space Systems Engineer
Contract: 24 months or longer
Pay: $68.34/hour

Responsibilities
  • Apply systems engineering principles to space-based systems, including digital signal processing algorithms implemented in hardware and software.
  • Perform statistical analysis of signal parameter measurements using Detection & Estimation Theory, Random Processes Analysis, and Communications & Information Theory.
  • Utilize MATLAB for DSP and related toolboxes; experience with radar processing, RF mitigation, Monte Carlo analysis, or phased array/beamforming is highly desirable.

Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
  • Experience: 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree with 3+ years. Agile development experience preferred.
  • Security Clearance: U.S. citizenship required; must meet eligibility for classified information access.

Preferred Skills
  • Python programming
  • SmallSat and CubeSat development
  • Hardware prototype development and integration ("FlatSat," hardware-in-the-loop testing)
  • Electrical or systems engineering with communications/DSP focus
  • Agile hardware/software/firmware development, DevOps, CI/CD
  • Digital Engineering/MBSE (SysML, MagicDraw, Cameo)
  • Space payload design, development, and integration/testing
