Job Summary
- Seeking a Systems Engineer responsible for managing system requirements and derived requirements to ensure delivery of production systems that align with defined system architectures, including the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles
Primary Responsibilities
- Analyzes user's requirements, concept of operations documents, and high-level system architectures to develop system requirements specifications
- Analyzes system requirements and leads design and development activities
- Guides users in formulating requirements, advises alternative approaches, and conducts feasibility studies
- Provides technical leadership for the integration of requirements, design, and technology
- Incorporates new plans, designs and systems into ongoing operations
- Develops technical documentation
- Develops system Architecture and system design documentation
- Guides system development and implementation planning through assessment or preparation of system engineering management plans and system integration and test plans. Interacts with the Government regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts
- Ultimate responsibility for the technical integrity of work performed and deliverables associated with the Systems Engineering area of responsibility
- Communicates with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives
Required Qualifications
- Must have active Top Secret/SCI clearance with NSA Full Scope Polygraph
- Seven (7) years' SE experience in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity
- A Bachelor's degree in System Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering Science, Engineering Management, or related discipline from an accredited college or university
- Five (5) years of additional SE experience may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
- One (1) year of experience in the legal or technical aspects of Intelligence Community Privacy Compliance required
- Experience managing complex system and derived requirements in accordance with DoD systems engineering processes, ensuring full traceability and compliance with Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DoDAF) and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) principles
- Demonstrated expertise in developing and maintaining Systems Engineering Plans (SEPs), Requirements Specifications, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and Initial Capabilities Documents (ICDs) in support of program lifecycle milestones
- Proven ability to allocate functional, performance, and security requirements across hardware, software, personnel, and infrastructure components, ensuring alignment with mission and stakeholder needs
- Hands-on experience supporting Configuration Control Boards (CCBs), design reviews, program reviews, and test readiness reviews, coordinating cross-functional resolutions to technical and configuration issues
- Skilled in requirements decomposition, traceability, and verification using recognized systems engineering methodologies and tools
- Experience developing and implementing verification and validation (V&V) strategies, defining evaluation methods, and documenting results to demonstrate compliance with system and mission requirements
- Proficient in architectural design and analysis, generation of alternative system concepts, and trade studies for performance optimization
- Knowledgeable in Information Assurance (IA) and Cybersecurity requirements, including development of derived requirements supporting Confidentiality, Integrity, Non-Repudiation, and Availability
- Familiar with security compliance frameworks, including DISA STIGs, RMF, FIPS 140, and NIAP validation standards
- Experience preparing RMF artifacts, conducting risk assessments, and supporting security test and evaluation (ST&E) activities to maintain system accreditation and compliance
- Strong background collaborating with government stakeholders, program management offices, and technical leads to deliver secure, compliant, and mission-capable solutions
