Leidos, a leading defense, intelligence, and technology company, is seeking a motivated Network Engineer / Network Systems Intern to join our Digital Modernization Group on the Global Solutions Management – Operations II (GSM-O II) contract at Scott AFB, IL. As part of our team, you'll contribute to the operations, sustainment, and defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN), supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA).

What You'll Do:
- Support Internet Service Provider (ISP) level network architecture for over 30 million users.
- Provide support for network upgrades and system modernization efforts.
- Maintain and enhance network design data, ensuring accuracy and optimizing network performance.
- Provide network support from Core infrastructure systems to individual user issues.
- Contribute to project planning and execution by developing logical plans to address well-defined requirements.
- Identify and resolve network design issues and improving system reliability.
- Assist in the administration of network devices and applications, gaining valuable hands-on experience.
- Assist in the development of technical documentation and hone essential networking knowledge to support team success.
What You'll Bring:
- Actively pursuing a degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Computer or Electrical Engineering, Information Technology) from an accredited college/university.
- Solid understanding of IT principles and networking concepts (OSI Model, Python, Ansible, Yang, HTML/XML, VBA, SQL, Unix/Linux, Bash, SED/AWK).
- Proven ability to perform data analysis, extract meaningful insights, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Commitment to obtaining Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT II certification) within a specified timeframe.
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain an interim Secret DoD Security clearance (sponsored by Leidos).
- Must be a U.S. Citizen.
- Geographic Requirement: This position is based on-site at Scott AFB, Illinois.
- Reliable transportation to Scott AFB is required.
