A Day in the Life – What You’ll Do
• Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers to design, develop, and integrate embedded software for advanced flight platforms.
• Develop software that interfaces with avionics hardware, sensors, and flight systems to provide operational capabilities to aircrews.
• Build and maintain simulation and mission system applications to support testing, validation, and aircrew training.
• Participate in engineering design reviews, code reviews, and integration activities both on-site and at partner facilities.
• Document all engineering work products in accordance with Engineering Data SDRL and configuration management standards.

Requirements & Qualifications
Required:
• U.S. Citizenship — This position requires the ability to obtain a government security clearance and work in a facility with special access.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related STEM computing field.
• 5+ years of experience in software development, integration, or testing (academic or professional).
• Academic or professional experience using C/C++, Java, C#, or Python in embedded or application development.
• Experience contributing to team-based software projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Developer Studio and version control tools (e.g., Git).
In lieu of a degree:
At least 10 years of experience in one or more applicable domain areas below.
Applicable Domain Expertise:
• Avionic Human Machine Interface (HMI) Design
• Glass Cockpit Design
• Tactical Communications and Data Links
• Military Aircraft Navigation Systems
• Embedded Mission Computing Processing Systems
• Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) and Digital Backbone Networks
• Military Aircraft Sensor Systems
• Aircraft Survivability Systems
Desired Skills:
• Foundational understanding of software development methodologies, processes, and configuration management.
• Experience writing or debugging hardware control software.
• Experience developing software for Windows, Linux/Unix, or Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS).
• Familiarity with Git/GitLab, Visual Studio, Eclipse, or Atlassian tools (Jira).
• Experience supporting DoD, aerospace, or avionics systems software development.
