SPA's Integrated Warfare Systems Group (IWSG) comprises more than 100 staff that provide program and project management, systems and digital engineering, software, test & evaluation, product support, cybersecurity, international/Foreign Military Sales, strategic communications, and IT support to more than 100 Above Water Sensor, Undersea, and Combat System programs and projects in the Navy's Program Executive Office for Integrated Warfare Systems (PEO IWS) and customers in Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD), Office of Naval Research (ONR), Missile Defense Agency (MDA), and the Navy's Team Submarine Office. #FC
Responsibilities
We are seeking a Senior Certification Engineer to support NAVSEA from SPA's offices in Washington, DC or Dahlgren, VA.
The successful candidate will support NAVSEA and be responsible for developing, fielding, and sustaining operationally superior warfare systems and performing the full spectrum of warfare analysis, research, development, integration, test & evaluation, and certification to provide quality systems engineering and integration for the Department of Defense. Position responsibilities include provision of efficient mission and systems engineering in the areas of in-service and future Ship and Combat Systems integration engineering, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD), Ship Self Defense System (SSDS), and Land-Based Test Site planning and activation.
Salary Range: 130k-190k.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical discipline, or four (4) years of a demonstrated and established knowledge base and subject matter expertise relevant to specific technical disciplines
- Ten (10) years of experience in Combat System Certification, with emphasis in one of more of the following: Ship Self Defense System, Littoral Combat Ship (LCS) class, AEGIS Integrated Combat Systems, DDG-1000 Zumwalt class destroyer, Aegis Ballistic Missile Defense and combat system element certifications
- Demonstrated experience in generating certification plans aligned with program milestones; identifying, collecting, and assessing OQE in support of generating certification assessments; planning and coordinating MRAs/CSCPs including wall walks, dry runs, and presentations to panel membership; and drafting authorization and certification letters for CS Certification Official and/or Certification Authority for distribution to the Fleet
- Experience with utilizing MBSE from certification planning to decision milestones (SWIRs, IPRs, MRAs, CSCPs) including dissemination of OQE by using web-based technology and ensuring complete records management including Action Items, Statements of Findings (if applicable), and preservation of meeting material and OQE
- Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of current certification policies (NWSCP 9410.2B, PEOIWSINST 4730.1B, and PEOIWSINST 4732.1A), Navy systems engineering policy (Technical Review Manual), and other industry best practices (i.e. IEEE 1012 and IEEE 12207)
- DoD Secret clearance, and the ability to maintain it throughout employment
Desired Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge and experience with engineering and certification policies to define appropriate level of tailoring in support of emergent efforts, critical experiments, and new development technologies
