10x National Security is building the next generation of defense technology—fast, practical, and driven by results. We deliver mission-critical software, data, and AI systems for the Department of Defense, Intelligence Community, and national mission partners. Our work spans AI-powered threat detection (VDetect), zero-copy data integration (vPipeline), immersive collaboration (Voxaverse), and secure software factories supporting U.S. national security operations.
We move fast, solve hard problems, and value simplicity, speed, and science above bureaucracy.
Role Overview
We’re looking for an AI Engineer who thrives in applied research and rapid prototyping environments. This role bridges cutting-edge machine learning with real-world mission problems: building, training, and deploying models that detect, predict, and defend. You’ll work across data pipelines, GPU-accelerated infrastructure, and multi-domain environments, from edge nodes to classified clouds.
You’ll join a small, high-trust team where ownership is the norm, and your code directly impacts U.S. national security missions.
Responsibilities
Design, train, and optimize ML and deep learning models for structured, unstructured, and multimodal data (text, sensor, image, signal, etc.)
Integrate models into scalable inference pipelines using frameworks such as NVIDIA Morpheus, PyTorch, or TensorRT
Collaborate with DevSecOps and data engineering teams to productionize models across air-gapped and classified environments
Develop tools for explainable AI, data labeling, model monitoring, and adversarial robustness
Support R&D on novel AI/ML techniques relevant to cyber defense, autonomous systems, and predictive analytics
Contribute to open-source projects and help shape the AI stack for 10x’s product portfolio
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Applied Math, or related field
3–8 years of experience developing ML/AI solutions in Python (PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn)
Strong experience with data preprocessing, feature engineering, and model evaluation
Familiarity with MLOps and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab, MLflow, Kubeflow, etc.)
Experience with large language models (LLMs), NLP, and embedding architectures
Working knowledge of edge AI deployment, GPU acceleration (CUDA), and distributed training
Active or eligible U.S. security clearance (Secret or higher preferred)
What We Value
Bias for action. We iterate fast and build what matters.
Technical precision. Good enough isn’t good enough when lives are on the line.
Ownership mindset. No spectators—only contributors.
Mission focus. You want your work to protect and advance America’s future.
Compensation & Benefits
Competitive base salary + potential for equity participation, performance bonuses, 401(k) with match, full medical/dental/vision, and flexible PTO.
