Senior Software Engineer, C#

We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join a leading defense technology firm delivering mission-critical software for national security and intelligence operations. This role blends hands-on coding with mentorship and leadership, building applications that support operational teams in high-stakes environments.

What You'll Do

• Lead software development efforts for mission-critical applications, initially as an individual contributor with potential to lead a small team over time
• Develop and maintain Windows desktop and web-based applications using C#, .NET, and C++
• Improve, scale, and extend existing software products, adding new features and optimizing performance
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, bridging the gap between senior and less-experienced team members
• Collaborate with end-users and operational teams to translate requirements into actionable software features
• Triage issues, perform root-cause analysis, and coordinate technical solutions
• Ensure high-quality, reliable software in environments with strict operational constraints

What We're Looking For

• 5-10+ years of professional software engineering experience
• Hands-on experience with C#, .NET, and C++ libraries
• Windows desktop application experience is highly desirable (MAUI, Blazor, or similar)
• UI/UX development experience is a bonus
• Comfortable developing web-based applications for mission-critical environments
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to navigate complex codebases
• Ability to mentor and guide a small team of engineers
• Teachable, adaptable, and capable of working in a client-facing environment
• Active U.S. Top Secret clearance or ability to obtain
