Position Description
- Client is seeking a Product Support Specialist for their Weapon Systems Test Team.
- The product support specialist works alongside engineers and technicians supporting a broad range of programs and development projects.
- This position has a high level of autonomy to perform assigned tasks and assignments.
- Products may be developmental, mature/fielded systems, and/or anything in between.
- The product support specialist will work in cross-functional teams where they are likely to develop close collegial relationships built on trust and individual integrity.
- Successful candidates are self-starters with strong technical experience that are willing to go above and beyond the norm when necessary to get the job done.
- An ideal candidate for this position has experience in the military and data acquisition systems.
- The ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance is required for this position.
Skills Required:
- The ability to obtain a DOD Secret Clearance
- Demonstrated ability to manage and execute assigned tasks independently
- Ability to develop and maintain effective relationships and effectively communicate with customers to resolve complex technical problems
- Ability to accept field assignments and associated travel to test locations
- Ability to take ownership of problems/high-level requirements
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and skilled in MS Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
Skills Preferred:
- Shipboard equipment integration and testing
- Mk 41 Vertical Launching System (VLS), VLS Canisters, Adaptable Deck Launching System, Aegis Ashore, Mk 57 VLS, Mk 70 Payload Delivery System (PDS) and/or other missile launching system product experience
- Knowledge and understanding of technologies and methodologies relevant to:
- Instrumentation and data acquisition systems
- Weapons systems development
- Precision machine tool processing and fabrication
- Ammunition and explosive material experience and accumulated training
- Electrical and mechanical assembly, maintenance, and repair
- Vehicle and power equipment maintenance and repair
Experience Required:
- Typically, a relevant associate's degree or equivalent plus eight years of defense-related experience in engineering, manufacturing, design, test, or field service to identify design/performance problems and lead project teams.
Experience Preferred:
- Shipboard equipment integration and testing, missile launching system product experience, and related weapons systems technologies.
Education Required:
- Typically, a relevant associate's degree or equivalent, plus eight years of defense-related experience.
Additional Information:
- Travel will not be required in the initial contract period.
