General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT) is seeking an Operations Coordinator - CDC Emergency Operations to join our team onsite at the CDC's metro Atlanta facilities. This position supports the Division of Emergency Operations (DEO) within CDC's Office of Readiness and Response (ORR), providing critical operational and administrative support to ensure 24/7 readiness and continuity of the Emergency Operations Center (EOC).
Public health emergency response requires coordination, precision, and adaptability. The Operations Branch within CDC's EOC plays a central role in maintaining daily situational awareness, call management, reporting, and continuity planning to ensure CDC remains operationally ready to respond to any public-health event.

How an Operations Coordinator Will Make an Impact
As an Operations Coordinator, you will directly support CDC's emergency operations and readiness by:
- Maintaining and updating operational protocols, SOPs, rosters, and continuity plans (COOP) to ensure the EOC remains mission-ready 24/7/365.
- Providing call-management and triage support, including logging and tracking all incoming calls, faxes, and emails using established EOC systems (ECLA, REPORT mailbox).
- Ensuring accurate and complete documentation of calls and events following the "5 Ws" standard (who, what, when, why, where), and generating daily, weekly, and monthly reports for leadership.
- Supporting steady-state and response operations by assisting with drills, exercises, briefings, and after-action reporting.
- Participating in incident response activities by tracking tasks, managing communications, and ensuring situational updates flow effectively between response sections.
- Assisting with meeting coordination, including drafting calendar invites, conference details, weather slides, and operational briefings.
- Conducting quality reviews of call logs, operational data, and documentation to ensure adherence to CDC standards.
- Supporting training activities for OPS Branch staff and assisting with onboarding and supplemental resources.
- Providing flexible coverage across CDC's Atlanta campuses as directed by OPS Branch leadership, including weekend or holiday rotations when required.
What You'll Need to Succeed
Required Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree and 2+ years of relevant experience, or 5+ years of work experience in lieu of a degree.
- Demonstrated experience in an Emergency Operations Center (EOC), watch desk, or public-health emergency-management environment (CDC or similar).
- Proven ability to support operational tasking, call logging, data tracking, and report generation within a structured, 24/7 operational environment.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Experience with EOC systems and communications tools such as ECLA, ERS, or similar databases preferred.
- Strong data entry, recordkeeping, and reporting skills with emphasis on accuracy and timeliness.
Soft Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- High level of attention to detail, organization, and multitasking ability.
- Demonstrated professionalism, adaptability, and teamwork under pressure.
Clearance Requirement
- Ability to obtain and maintain a CDC Public Trust clearance.
