Role and Position Objectives
As an Advanced Systems Engineer - Tracking Systems Engineer supporting the SDA GMI program, you will join a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Translate mission requirements into robust system designs within accelerated timelines.
- Decompose end-to-end system requirements into architecture, design, interfaces, and test cases.
- Collaborate with developers and integration/test teams to ensure components meet mission needs.
- Champion technology trends and process improvements throughout the systems development life cycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or related field (Science, Engineering, Mathematics).
- 5+ years of relevant experience, or Master's degree plus 3 years of experience.
- Agile development experience preferred.
- Security Clearance: Active DoD Secret clearance required at time of hire. U.S. citizenship is mandatory.
Preferred Skills and Experience
- Ground system design and scheduling expertise.
- Tracking mission design and satellite communications knowledge.
- Experience with cloud-based microservice architecture.
- Proficiency in Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools (e.g., CAMEO, MagicDraw).
- Familiarity with programming languages (Java, Python, MATLAB) for system analysis and prototyping.
- Simulation and modeling experience using tools like STK for aerospace applications.
