Senior Systems Engineer
Onsite in Huntsville, AL | Off-Post, Not Redstone Arsenal
Full-Time with an ESOP Contractor | Schedule: 9x80 (Every Other Friday Off)
Active Secret Clearance Required
Senior Systems Engineer for a position on the GWS-GSS IPT of the Ground Missile Defense (GMD) system. The GMD Weapon System (GWS) processes data from multiple sensors to identify and characterize the inbound ballistic missile threat, plans the best defensive solution, and launches the intercepting missiles to negate the threat.
Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include requirements development, decomposition, software verification & generating system- and segment-level test procedures.

Responsibilities:
As a Systems Engineer, your responsibilities will include requirements development, decomposition, software verification & generating system- and segment-level test procedures.
- Develop, decompose, and manage system and software-level requirements for GWS functionality
- Translate operational concepts into system behaviors using SysML within a Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) approach
- Conduct software verification and validation across segment-level architectures
- Create and execute system and segment-level test procedures to verify performance
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support hardware/software integration
- Ensure traceability and compliance using IBM DOORS
Qualifications:
- U.S. Citizenship and Active U.S. DoD Secret clearance is required
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM discipline (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) from an accredited university
- 5+ years of relevant systems engineering experience in a defense environment
- Proficient in using DOORS for requirements management
- Experience working in the Missile Defense domain
- Experience working in Hardware and Software integration
- Extensive experience with MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) and the use of SysUML to describe behaviors of a complex DoD system
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience using Cameo
- Experience with INCOSE systems engineering
- Active CompTIA Security+ certification
- Active Top Secret clearance highly preferred
