Job Description:
The Senior Network Engineer serves as a technical lead and subject matter expert responsible for the direction and execution of telecommunications and IT infrastructure projects. This role oversees installation, operation, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of telecommunications and IT systems, ensuring seamless connectivity and mission readiness across enterprise environments.
• Directs and performs technical work in support of telecommunications and IT systems projects, ensuring compliance with established requirements, standards, and schedules.
• Conducts system analyses and prepares technical documentation, status reports, and engineering briefings for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Leads on-site management of installations, including coordination of resources, oversight of vendor and contractor activities, and verification of proper implementation.
• Independently installs, configures, operates, maintains, troubleshoots, and repairs IT and telecommunications systems — including devices, circuits, cables, components, software, and end-user connectivity.
• Assists in the development and management of project plans, including tracking task performance, reviewing work products for accuracy, and ensuring alignment with design concepts and user requirements.
• Coordinates closely with the Vendor Project Manager (PM), Contracting Officer’s Technical Representatives (COTRs), and government user representatives to ensure technical accuracy, timely delivery, and customer satisfaction.
• Prepares and delivers technical briefings, presentations, and status updates to program leadership and government stakeholders.
• Provides technical expertise in evaluating system upgrades, integration of new technologies, and lifecycle management initiatives to enhance telecommunications infrastructure performance and reliability.
Qualifications (Must Haves):
• Ten (10) years of Telecommunications experience including at least eight (8) years of Local Area Network (LAN) experience.
• DoD Approved 8570 Baseline Certification: IAT-II
• Computing Environment Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP), Cisco Certified Wireless Professional (CCWP), or other relevant Telecommunication Engineer Senior Cisco certifications.
• Security Clearance - Must possess an active Secret Clearance (or higher) with a Tier-5 Background Investigation
