Northrop Grumman Mission Systems (NGMS) is seeking Program Manager1. This position will be located on-site in Woodland Hills, California and will support Navigation Solutions for the Navigation and Cockpit Systems (NACS) Business Unit (BU).

This position will require up to 25% travel

What you will get to do:
  • Use analytical tools and data to provide guidance and input to a cross-functional Integrated Program Team (IPT) to meet program cost, schedule and technical performance objectives
  • Identification, distribution, tracking, and completion of program requirements
  • Development and adherence to master plans, schedules, budget baselines utilizing Earned Value Management (EVM) or similar cost & schedule control methodologies and tools
  • Adherence to all internal processes, policies, and applicable industry standards
  • Conducts thorough risk & opportunity management practices including identification, mitigation and realization
  • Measuring and reporting program performance, familiarity with the Internet Program Review Systems (IPRS) to maintain program metrics and accompanying data analysis.
  • Delivering presentations to customers, executive management and other program stakeholders, history working with Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA), defense contracting (USAF) Program, and knowledge of Inter-Sector Work Order (IWO).
  • Participate in the negotiation of contracts, contract changes, specifications, operating budgets, milestones schedule, and key terms and conditions
  • Create, review and finalize the programs Statement of Work, experience breaking down a Statement of Work and creating a program plan, including Subcontractor Data Requirements List (SDRL).
  • Ensures program team understands and adheres to contract scope and manages change through established processes.
  • Demonstrate the following key characteristics: Communication, Aligning Approach to Program/Contractual Objectives, Creative Solution Finding, Space or Missile program knowledge


Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in a STEM field with 5 years of related experience working with manufacturing teams; or 3 years with a master's degree.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams in program execution activities like planning, risk management, schedule development, stakeholder communication, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience managing system design and development efforts for programs, with full Statement of Work (SOW) accountability for planning, execution, cost control, scheduling, risk management, technical performance, and Profit & Loss (P&L).
  • Demonstrated experience leading program tasks to meet cost, schedule, and technical requirements as a Project Lead, Integrated Program Team ( IPT ) Lead, or Cost Account Manager.
  • Demonstrated experience serving as the accountable lead for team execution, with responsibility developing program plans, maintaining the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS), and monitoring progress to cost, schedule, and performance targets.
  • Demonstrated experience applying Earned Value Management System (EVMS) principles to monitor cost and schedule performance and supporting performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated experience leading risk and opportunity management for programs including identifying risk/opportunities, implementing mitigation or exploitation strategies, and monitoring impact on schedule, cost, and performance objectives.
  • United States citizenship required.
  • Active Secret clearance required to be considered.


Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Northrop Grumman's operations, structure and culture, with proven experience effectively collaborating across functions, and/or a similar corporate culture experience.
  • Experience with schedule management, program financial controls, business acquisition process, leading planning activities, and defining/tracking a wide range of program metrics.
  • Expertise leading process improvement, organizational effectiveness, or operational planning
  • Worked a program with multiple suppliers with responsibility for Hardware (HW) integration, test assets and HW configuration management.

Primary Level Salary Range: $129,900.00 - $194,900.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
