About the Role :

Lockheed Martin Space is seeking a full-time Senior Guidance, Navigation, & Control Engineer.

As a Senior GNC Engineer, you will :
• Perform duties of mission analysis, flight dynamics, test analysis support, requirements verification, and system design
• Participate in issue resolution and develop solutions to complex technical problems
• Ensure sound technical content and timely resolution
• Apply experience and/or knowledge of hypersonic flight dynamics, reentry vehicle systems, and trajectory simulation techniques
• Utilize MATLAB for system architecture design and data analysis

This position requires the candidate to work on-site full time.

Successful applicants generally have at least 3+ years of related experience and may have a post-secondary degree or training in a related discipline, such as Aerospace Engineering or other related field.
Basic Qualifications:
Skill Requirements :
• Demonstrated experience using MATLAB and/or Simulink for planning and conducting system performance and simulation analysis
• Knowledge of system design and flight vehicle architectures
• Understanding of requirements verification

Security Clearance / Work Authorization :
• To meet requirements of the program/customer, this position requires the selected employee to be a U.S. Citizen.
• Final Secret clearance is required to start employment. Applicants must possess a currently active Secret security clearance to be considered qualified.
• Selected candidates will be required to maintain a government issued Secret clearance for long term employment on this program.
Desired Skills:
• Advanced degree in related discipline
• Experience developing and analyzing algorithms related to Guidance, Navigation and Control
• Proficiency with C++ programming, MATLAB, and Linux
• Ability to perform system performance assessment and verification analyses
• Experience with optimal state estimation filters such as extended Kalman filters (EKF)
• Demonstrated skills in probability, statistics, and Design of Experiments (DOE)
• Experience deploying algorithms that satisfy real-time performance requirements

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off
