The Strategic Division (SD) supports high-reliability organizations including Navy Strategic Systems Programs (SSP), Air Force Nuclear Weapons Center, and the Department of Energy (DOE), among others. Our support across our client base is expanding rapidly and encompasses important services, such as data analytics and visualization, threat analysis, risk management, modeling and simulation, cost estimating, earned value management, program management, system engineering, independent evaluation, and High Consequence Event prevention.
The Strategic Systems Analysis Group (SSAG) supports government and private sector strategic planning, decision making, and program management. SSAG integrates deep client knowledge, advanced analytics, and subject matter expertise to provide timely and objective technical, operational, programmatic, acquisition, and policy analysis. SSAG is hiring for a Senior Operations Research Analyst who can lead a project to map complex relationships within interconnected networks that will identify hidden dependencies and single points of failure, providing stakeholders with a more accurate and detailed view of risks and vulnerabilities.
Responsibilities
The Senior Operations Research Analyst will provide relevant, objective, timely, and clear analytical support to Nuclear Enterprise stakeholders by translating complex information into actionable insights, enabling stakeholders to proactively manage threats and build more robust, resilient supply chains. Tasks include leading development for tools and models that integrate data from DoD and DOE/NNSA portions of the Nuclear Enterprise including acquisition and infrastructure networks and modeling component interdependencies involving large datasets. The analyst will provide descriptive and prescriptive analysis of how implications from proposed changes to the Nuclear Enterprise's baseline affect risk and opportunities across the enterprise.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to work at SPA HQ in Alexandria, VA.
- Must meet requirements for access to classified information and have an active TOP SECRET clearance.
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Operations Research, Statistics, or Data Science.
- Minimum 15 years of experience in Operations Research.
- Proficiency with mathematical optimization including linear and mixed-integer formulations, models, and solution method.
- Experience combining operations research techniques and software development practices to build tools that solve real-world problems in a timely manner using relevant, objective models.
- Ability to clearly communicate results and insights from complex technical and mathematical models to broad audiences, including developing visualizations and other products.
- Proficiency with Python or a similar programming language.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience with problems involving inventory management, resource allocation, operational effectiveness, or force structure analysis.
- Experience with CPLEX, Gurobi, or similar optimization software.
- Experience with schedule-related optimization models such as job shop, assignment, time-space network flows, etc.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams including operations and DoD acquisitions.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools (e.g. Tableau, Power BI) and software modeling tools such as AnyLogic.
- Training in basic physical sciences a plus.
