Network Engineer – Level 4
Description:
The Network Engineer shall provide technical leadership in planning investigation, design, and implementation of physical and logical communication solutions having network wide impact.
• The Network Engineer shall be responsible for overall integration of service delivery arrangements involving Local Area Network (LAN), Metropolitan Area Network (MAN), and Wide Area Network (WAN), including planning design, installation, maintenance, management, and coordination of agency LAN/MAN/WAN interfaces with the customer’s telecommunication services provided.
• The Network Engineer shall plan, design, implement, test, and support network solutions between platforms.
• The Network Engineer shall conduct security audits and assessments.
• The Network Engineer shall develop detailed network design, diagrams, and documentation.
Minimum Education
• Bachelors Degree in of the following areas, from an accredited university/college:
• Computer Science
• Computer Engineering
• Software Engineering
• Electrical Engineering
• Computer & Information Security
• Computer Security and/or Network Administration
Or
• Masters in Computer Science or related field of Science & Technology
Minimal Experience
• The Network Engineer shall have 8 years of experience designing, architecting, and supporting both Cisco and Linux Routing Enterprise Systems.
• The Network Engineer shall have 5 years experience planning, designing, and analyzing LANS and overseeing the implementation and testing/troubleshooting activities, reviewing, and approving changes/modifications to the design and implementation, documenting the installed system, and recommending and operating the network management and control systems to maintain the LAN/MAN/WAN.
• The Network Engineer shall have experience working in Operating Systems and protocols, such as:
• Cisco IOS
• NX-OS
• Linux Routing Technologies
• Open Shortest Path First (OSPF)
• Border Gateway Protocol (BGP)
• VMWare Virtualization
• Preferred Experience
• Current Cisco Certified Network Associate
Or
Equivalent level or certification is desired
Additional education, training, and certification or work experience may be substituted in lieu of degree or work experience at the Government’s discretion.
Clearance
Applicants selected will be subject to a security investigation and may need to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Top Secret clearance required.
Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range: $140,000 - $160,000 (Compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, work experience, skills, education, certifications, seniority, and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.)
